وَٱلَّذِينَ يُنفِقُونَ أَمْوَٲلَهُمْ رِئَآءَ ٱلنَّاسِ وَلَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱللَّهِ وَلَا بِٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْأَخِرِۗ وَمَن يَكُنِ ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنُ لَهُۥ قَرِينًا فَسَآءَ قَرِينًا 38
وَمَاذَا عَلَيْهِمْ لَوْ ءَامَنُواْ بِٱللَّهِ وَٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْأَخِرِ وَأَنفَقُواْ مِمَّا رَزَقَهُمُ ٱللَّهُۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ بِهِمْ عَلِيمًا 39
إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَظْلِمُ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍۖ وَإِن تَكُ حَسَنَةً يُضَـٰعِفْهَا وَيُؤْتِ مِن لَّدُنْهُ أَجْرًا عَظِيمًا 40
فَكَيْفَ إِذَا جِئْنَا مِن كُلِّ أُمَّةِۭ بِشَهِيدٍ وَجِئْنَا بِكَ عَلَىٰ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ شَهِيدًا 41
يَوْمَئِذٍ يَوَدُّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ وَعَصَوُاْ ٱلرَّسُولَ لَوْ تُسَوَّىٰ بِهِمُ ٱلْأَرْضُ وَلَا يَكْتُمُونَ ٱللَّهَ حَدِيثًا 42
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ لَا تَقْرَبُواْ ٱلصَّلَوٲةَ وَأَنتُمْ سُكَـٰرَىٰ حَتَّىٰ تَعْلَمُواْ مَا تَقُولُونَ وَلَا جُنُبًا إِلَّا عَابِرِى سَبِيلٍ حَتَّىٰ تَغْتَسِلُواْۚ وَإِن كُنتُم مَّرْضَىٰٓ أَوْ عَلَىٰ سَفَرٍ أَوْ جَآءَ أَحَدٌ مِّنكُم مِّنَ ٱلْغَآئِطِ أَوْ لَـٰمَسْتُمُ ٱلنِّسَآءَ فَلَمْ تَجِدُواْ مَآءً فَتَيَمَّمُواْ صَعِيدًا طَيِّبًا فَٱمْسَحُواْ بِوُجُوهِكُمْ وَأَيْدِيكُمْۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ عَفُوًّا غَفُورًا 43
أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُواْ نَصِيبًا مِّنَ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ يَشْتَرُونَ ٱلضَّلَـٰلَةَ وَيُرِيدُونَ أَن تَضِلُّواْ ٱلسَّبِيلَ 44
وَٱلَّذِينَwa-alladhīnaAnd those whoيُنفِقُونَyunfiqūnaspendأَمْوَٰلَهُمْamwālahumtheir wealthرِئَآءَriāato be seenٱلنَّاسِl-nāsi(by) the peopleوَلَاwalāand notيُؤْمِنُونَyu'minūnathey believeبِٱللَّهِbil-lahiin Allahوَلَاwalāand notبِٱلْيَوْمِbil-yawmiin the Dayٱلْـَٔاخِرِ ۗl-ākhirithe Lastوَمَنwamanand whoeverيَكُنِyakunihasٱلشَّيْطَـٰنُl-shayṭānuthe Shaitaanلَهُۥlahufor himقَرِينًۭاqarīnan(as) companion فَسَآءَfasāathen evilقَرِينًۭاqarīnan(is he as) a companion
4:38
وَمَاذَاwamādhāAnd whatعَلَيْهِمْʿalayhim(is) against themلَوْlawifءَامَنُوا۟āmanūthey believedبِٱللَّهِbil-lahiin Allahوَٱلْيَوْمِwal-yawmiand the Dayٱلْـَٔاخِرِl-ākhirithe Lastوَأَنفَقُوا۟wa-anfaqūand spentمِمَّاmimmāfrom whatرَزَقَهُمُrazaqahumu(has) provided themٱللَّهُ ۚl-lahuAllahوَكَانَwakānaAnd isٱللَّهُl-lahuAllahبِهِمْbihimabout themعَلِيمًاʿalīmanAll-Knower
4:39
إِنَّinnaIndeedٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahلَاlā(does) notيَظْلِمُyaẓlimuwrongمِثْقَالَmith'qāla(as much as) weightذَرَّةٍۢ ۖdharratin(of) an atomوَإِنwa-inAnd ifتَكُtakuthere isحَسَنَةًۭḥasanatana goodيُضَـٰعِفْهَاyuḍāʿif'hāHe doubles itوَيُؤْتِwayu'tiand givesمِنminfromلَّدُنْهُladun'hunear Himأَجْرًاajrana rewardعَظِيمًۭاʿaẓīmangreat
4:40
فَكَيْفَfakayfaSo how (will it be)إِذَاidhāwhenجِئْنَاji'nāWe bringمِنminfromكُلِّkullieveryأُمَّةٍۭummatinnationبِشَهِيدٍۢbishahīdina witnessوَجِئْنَاwaji'nāand We bringبِكَbikayouعَلَىٰʿalāagainstهَـٰٓؤُلَآءِhāulāithese (people)شَهِيدًۭاshahīdan(as) a witness
4:41
يَوْمَئِذٍۢyawma-idhin(On) that Dayيَوَدُّyawadduwill wishٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoكَفَرُوا۟kafarūdisbelievedوَعَصَوُا۟waʿaṣawūand disobeyedٱلرَّسُولَl-rasūlathe Messengerلَوْlawifتُسَوَّىٰtusawwāwas leveledبِهِمُbihimuwith themٱلْأَرْضُl-arḍuthe earthوَلَاwalāand notيَكْتُمُونَyaktumūnathey will (be able to) hideٱللَّهَl-laha(from) Allahحَدِيثًۭاḥadīthan(any) statement
4:42
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَاyāayyuhāO youٱلَّذِينَalladhīnawhoءَامَنُوا۟āmanūbelieve[d]لَاlā(Do) notتَقْرَبُوا۟taqrabūgo nearٱلصَّلَوٰةَl-ṣalatathe prayerوَأَنتُمْwa-antumwhile youسُكَـٰرَىٰsukārā(are) intoxicatedحَتَّىٰḥattāuntilتَعْلَمُوا۟taʿlamūyou knowمَاmāwhatتَقُولُونَtaqūlūnayou are sayingوَلَاwalāand notجُنُبًاjunuban(when you are) impureإِلَّاillāexceptعَابِرِىʿābirī(when) passingسَبِيلٍsabīlin(through) a wayحَتَّىٰḥattāuntilتَغْتَسِلُوا۟ ۚtaghtasilūyou have bathedوَإِنwa-inAnd ifكُنتُمkuntumyou areمَّرْضَىٰٓmarḍāillأَوْaworعَلَىٰʿalāonسَفَرٍsafarina journeyأَوْaworجَآءَjāacameأَحَدٌۭaḥadunoneمِّنكُمminkumof youمِّنَminafromٱلْغَآئِطِl-ghāiṭithe toiletأَوْaworلَـٰمَسْتُمُlāmastumuyou have touchedٱلنِّسَآءَl-nisāathe womenفَلَمْfalamand notتَجِدُوا۟tajidūyou findمَآءًۭmāanwaterفَتَيَمَّمُوا۟fatayammamūthen do tayammumصَعِيدًۭاṣaʿīdan(with) earthطَيِّبًۭاṭayyibancleanفَٱمْسَحُوا۟fa-im'saḥūand wipe (with it)بِوُجُوهِكُمْbiwujūhikumyour facesوَأَيْدِيكُمْ ۗwa-aydīkumand your handsإِنَّinnaIndeedٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahكَانَkānaisعَفُوًّاʿafuwwanOft-PardoningغَفُورًاghafūranOft-Forgiving
4:43
أَلَمْalamDid notتَرَtarayou seeإِلَىilā[towards]ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoأُوتُوا۟ūtūwere givenنَصِيبًۭاnaṣībana portionمِّنَminaofٱلْكِتَـٰبِl-kitābithe Bookيَشْتَرُونَyashtarūnapurchasingٱلضَّلَـٰلَةَl-ḍalālata[the] errorوَيُرِيدُونَwayurīdūnaand wishingأَنanthatتَضِلُّوا۟taḍillūyou strayٱلسَّبِيلَl-sabīla(from) the way
4:44
