وَلَمَّا بَلَغَ أَشُدَّهُۥ وَٱسْتَوَىٰٓ ءَاتَيْنَـٰهُ حُكْمًا وَعِلْمًاۚ وَكَذَٲلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ 14
وَدَخَلَ ٱلْمَدِينَةَ عَلَىٰ حِينِ غَفْلَةٍ مِّنْ أَهْلِهَا فَوَجَدَ فِيهَا رَجُلَيْنِ يَقْتَتِلَانِ هَـٰذَا مِن شِيعَتِهِۦ وَهَـٰذَا مِنْ عَدُوِّهِۦۖ فَٱسْتَغَـٰثَهُ ٱلَّذِى مِن شِيعَتِهِۦ عَلَى ٱلَّذِى مِنْ عَدُوِّهِۦ فَوَكَزَهُۥ مُوسَىٰ فَقَضَىٰ عَلَيْهِۖ قَالَ هَـٰذَا مِنْ عَمَلِ ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنِۖ إِنَّهُۥ عَدُوٌّ مُّضِلٌّ مُّبِينٌ 15
قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّى ظَلَمْتُ نَفْسِى فَٱغْفِرْ لِى فَغَفَرَ لَهُۥٓۚ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلْغَفُورُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ 16
قَالَ رَبِّ بِمَآ أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَىَّ فَلَنْ أَكُونَ ظَهِيرًا لِّلْمُجْرِمِينَ 17
فَأَصْبَحَ فِى ٱلْمَدِينَةِ خَآئِفًا يَتَرَقَّبُ فَإِذَا ٱلَّذِى ٱسْتَنصَرَهُۥ بِٱلْأَمْسِ يَسْتَصْرِخُهُۥۚ قَالَ لَهُۥ مُوسَىٰٓ إِنَّكَ لَغَوِىٌّ مُّبِينٌ 18
فَلَمَّآ أَنْ أَرَادَ أَن يَبْطِشَ بِٱلَّذِى هُوَ عَدُوٌّ لَّهُمَا قَالَ يَـٰمُوسَىٰٓ أَتُرِيدُ أَن تَقْتُلَنِى كَمَا قَتَلْتَ نَفْسَۢا بِٱلْأَمْسِۖ إِن تُرِيدُ إِلَّآ أَن تَكُونَ جَبَّارًا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا تُرِيدُ أَن تَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُصْلِحِينَ 19
وَجَآءَ رَجُلٌ مِّنْ أَقْصَا ٱلْمَدِينَةِ يَسْعَىٰ قَالَ يَـٰمُوسَىٰٓ إِنَّ ٱلْمَلَأَ يَأْتَمِرُونَ بِكَ لِيَقْتُلُوكَ فَٱخْرُجْ إِنِّى لَكَ مِنَ ٱلنَّـٰصِحِينَ 20
فَخَرَجَ مِنْهَا خَآئِفًا يَتَرَقَّبُۖ قَالَ رَبِّ نَجِّنِى مِنَ ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ 21
وَلَمَّاwalammāAnd whenبَلَغَbalaghahe reachedأَشُدَّهُۥashuddahuhis full strengthوَٱسْتَوَىٰٓwa-is'tawāand became matureءَاتَيْنَـٰهُātaynāhuWe bestowed upon himحُكْمًۭاḥuk'manwisdomوَعِلْمًۭا ۚwaʿil'manand knowledgeوَكَذَٰلِكَwakadhālikaAnd thusنَجْزِىnajzīWe rewardٱلْمُحْسِنِينَl-muḥ'sinīnathe good-doers
28:14
وَدَخَلَwadakhalaAnd he enteredٱلْمَدِينَةَl-madīnatathe cityعَلَىٰʿalāatحِينِḥīnia timeغَفْلَةٍۢghaflatin(of) inattentionمِّنْminofأَهْلِهَاahlihāits peopleفَوَجَدَfawajadaand foundفِيهَاfīhāthereinرَجُلَيْنِrajulaynitwo menيَقْتَتِلَانِyaqtatilānifighting each otherهَـٰذَاhādhāthisمِنminofشِيعَتِهِۦshīʿatihihis partyوَهَـٰذَاwahādhāand thisمِنْminofعَدُوِّهِۦ ۖʿaduwwihihis enemyفَٱسْتَغَـٰثَهُfa-is'taghāthahuAnd called him for helpٱلَّذِىalladhīthe one whoمِنmin(was) fromشِيعَتِهِۦshīʿatihihis partyعَلَىʿalāagainstٱلَّذِىalladhīthe one whoمِنْmin(was) fromعَدُوِّهِۦʿaduwwihihis enemyفَوَكَزَهُۥfawakazahuso Musa struck him with his fistمُوسَىٰmūsāso Musa struck him with his fistفَقَضَىٰfaqaḍāand killed himعَلَيْهِ ۖʿalayhiand killed himقَالَqālaHe saidهَـٰذَاhādhāThis (is)مِنْminofعَمَلِʿamali(the) deedٱلشَّيْطَـٰنِ ۖl-shayṭāni(of) ShaitaanإِنَّهُۥinnahuIndeed, heعَدُوٌّۭʿaduwwun(is) an enemy مُّضِلٌّۭmuḍillunone who misleadsمُّبِينٌۭmubīnunclearly
28:15
قَالَqālaHe saidرَبِّrabbiMy LordإِنِّىinnīIndeed, Iظَلَمْتُẓalamtu[I] have wrongedنَفْسِىnafsīmy soulفَٱغْفِرْfa-igh'firso forgiveلِىlī[for] meفَغَفَرَfaghafaraThen He forgaveلَهُۥٓ ۚlahu[for] himإِنَّهُۥinnahuIndeed HeهُوَhuwaHe (is)ٱلْغَفُورُl-ghafūruthe Oft-Forgivingٱلرَّحِيمُl-raḥīmuthe Most Merciful
28:16
قَالَqālaHe saidرَبِّrabbiMy LordبِمَآbimāBecauseأَنْعَمْتَanʿamtaYou have favoredعَلَىَّʿalayya[on] meفَلَنْfalanso notأَكُونَakūnaI will beظَهِيرًۭاẓahīrana supporterلِّلْمُجْرِمِينَlil'muj'rimīna(of) the criminals
28:17
فَأَصْبَحَfa-aṣbaḥaIn the morning he wasفِىfīinٱلْمَدِينَةِl-madīnatithe cityخَآئِفًۭاkhāifanfearfulيَتَرَقَّبُyataraqqabu(and) was vigilantفَإِذَاfa-idhāwhen beholdٱلَّذِىalladhīThe one whoٱسْتَنصَرَهُۥis'tanṣarahusought his helpبِٱلْأَمْسِbil-amsithe previous dayيَسْتَصْرِخُهُۥ ۚyastaṣrikhuhucried out to him for helpقَالَqālaSaidلَهُۥlahuto himمُوسَىٰٓmūsāMusaإِنَّكَinnakaIndeed, youلَغَوِىٌّۭlaghawiyyun(are) surely a deviatorمُّبِينٌۭmubīnunclear
28:18
فَلَمَّآfalammāThen whenأَنْan[that]أَرَادَarādahe wantedأَنantoيَبْطِشَyabṭishastrikeبِٱلَّذِىbi-alladhīthe one whoهُوَhuwa[he] (was)عَدُوٌّۭʿaduwwunan enemyلَّهُمَاlahumāto both of themقَالَqālahe saidيَـٰمُوسَىٰٓyāmūsāO MusaأَتُرِيدُaturīduDo you intendأَنantoتَقْتُلَنِىtaqtulanīkill meكَمَاkamāasقَتَلْتَqataltayou killedنَفْسًۢاnafsana personبِٱلْأَمْسِ ۖbil-amsiyesterdayإِنinNotتُرِيدُturīduyou wantإِلَّآillābutأَنanthatتَكُونَtakūnayou becomeجَبَّارًۭاjabbārana tyrantفِىfīinٱلْأَرْضِl-arḍithe earthوَمَاwamāand notتُرِيدُturīduyou wantأَنanthatتَكُونَtakūnayou beمِنَminaofٱلْمُصْلِحِينَl-muṣ'liḥīnathe reformers
28:19
وَجَآءَwajāaAnd cameرَجُلٌۭrajuluna manمِّنْminfromأَقْصَاaqṣā(the) farthest endٱلْمَدِينَةِl-madīnati(of) the cityيَسْعَىٰyasʿārunningقَالَqālaHe saidيَـٰمُوسَىٰٓyāmūsāO MusaإِنَّinnaIndeedٱلْمَلَأَl-mala-athe chiefsيَأْتَمِرُونَyatamirūnaare taking counselبِكَbikaabout youلِيَقْتُلُوكَliyaqtulūkato kill youفَٱخْرُجْfa-ukh'rujso leaveإِنِّىinnīindeed, I amلَكَlakato youمِنَminaofٱلنَّـٰصِحِينَl-nāṣiḥīnathe sincere advisors
28:20
فَخَرَجَfakharajaSo he leftمِنْهَاmin'hāfrom itخَآئِفًۭاkhāifanfearingيَتَرَقَّبُ ۖyataraqqabu(and) vigilantقَالَqālaHe saidرَبِّrabbiMy LordنَجِّنِىnajjinīSave meمِنَminafromٱلْقَوْمِl-qawmithe people ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَl-ẓālimīnathe wrongdoers
28:21
