لَّا يُؤَاخِذُكُمُ ٱللَّهُ بِٱللَّغْوِ فِىٓ أَيْمَـٰنِكُمْ وَلَـٰكِن يُؤَاخِذُكُم بِمَا كَسَبَتْ قُلُوبُكُمْۗ وَٱللَّهُ غَفُورٌ حَلِيمٌ 225
لِّلَّذِينَ يُؤْلُونَ مِن نِّسَآئِهِمْ تَرَبُّصُ أَرْبَعَةِ أَشْهُرٍۖ فَإِن فَآءُو فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ 226
وَإِنْ عَزَمُواْ ٱلطَّلَـٰقَ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ 227
وَٱلْمُطَلَّقَـٰتُ يَتَرَبَّصْنَ بِأَنفُسِهِنَّ ثَلَـٰثَةَ قُرُوٓءٍۚ وَلَا يَحِلُّ لَهُنَّ أَن يَكْتُمْنَ مَا خَلَقَ ٱللَّهُ فِىٓ أَرْحَامِهِنَّ إِن كُنَّ يُؤْمِنَّ بِٱللَّهِ وَٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْأَخِرِۚ وَبُعُولَتُهُنَّ أَحَقُّ بِرَدِّهِنَّ فِى ذَٲلِكَ إِنْ أَرَادُوٓاْ إِصْلَـٰحًاۚ وَلَهُنَّ مِثْلُ ٱلَّذِى عَلَيْهِنَّ بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِۚ وَلِلرِّجَالِ عَلَيْهِنَّ دَرَجَةٌۗ وَٱللَّهُ عَزِيزٌ حَكِيمٌ 228
ٱلطَّلَـٰقُ مَرَّتَانِۖ فَإِمْسَاكُۢ بِمَعْرُوفٍ أَوْ تَسْرِيحُۢ بِإِحْسَـٰنٍۗ وَلَا يَحِلُّ لَكُمْ أَن تَأْخُذُواْ مِمَّآ ءَاتَيْتُمُوهُنَّ شَيْــًٔا إِلَّآ أَن يَخَافَآ أَلَّا يُقِيمَا حُدُودَ ٱللَّهِۖ فَإِنْ خِفْتُمْ أَلَّا يُقِيمَا حُدُودَ ٱللَّهِ فَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْهِمَا فِيمَا ٱفْتَدَتْ بِهِۦۗ تِلْكَ حُدُودُ ٱللَّهِ فَلَا تَعْتَدُوهَاۚ وَمَن يَتَعَدَّ حُدُودَ ٱللَّهِ فَأُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلظَّـٰلِمُونَ 229
فَإِن طَلَّقَهَا فَلَا تَحِلُّ لَهُۥ مِنۢ بَعْدُ حَتَّىٰ تَنكِحَ زَوْجًا غَيْرَهُۥۗ فَإِن طَلَّقَهَا فَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْهِمَآ أَن يَتَرَاجَعَآ إِن ظَنَّآ أَن يُقِيمَا حُدُودَ ٱللَّهِۗ وَتِلْكَ حُدُودُ ٱللَّهِ يُبَيِّنُهَا لِقَوْمٍ يَعْلَمُونَ 230
لَّاlāNotيُؤَاخِذُكُمُyuākhidhukumuwill take you to taskٱللَّهُl-lahuAllahبِٱللَّغْوِbil-laghwifor (what is) unintentionalفِىٓfīinأَيْمَـٰنِكُمْaymānikumyour oathsوَلَـٰكِنwalākin[and] butيُؤَاخِذُكُمyuākhidhukumHe takes you to taskبِمَاbimāfor whatكَسَبَتْkasabat(have) earnedقُلُوبُكُمْ ۗqulūbukumyour heartsوَٱللَّهُwal-lahuAnd Allahغَفُورٌghafūrun(is) Oft-ForgivingحَلِيمٌۭḥalīmunMost Forbearing
2:225
لِّلَّذِينَlilladhīnaFor those whoيُؤْلُونَyu'lūnaswear (off)مِنminfromنِّسَآئِهِمْnisāihimtheir wivesتَرَبُّصُtarabbuṣu(is a) waiting (of)أَرْبَعَةِarbaʿatifourأَشْهُرٍۢ ۖashhurinmonthsفَإِنfa-inthen ifفَآءُوfāūthey return فَإِنَّfa-innathen indeedٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahغَفُورٌۭghafūrun(is) Oft-ForgivingرَّحِيمٌۭraḥīmunMost Merciful
2:226
وَإِنْwa-inAnd ifعَزَمُوا۟ʿazamūthey resolveٱلطَّلَـٰقَl-ṭalāqa(on) [the] divorce فَإِنَّfa-innathen indeedٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahسَمِيعٌsamīʿun(is) All-HearingعَلِيمٌۭʿalīmunAll-Knowing
2:227
وَٱلْمُطَلَّقَـٰتُwal-muṭalaqātuAnd the women who are divorcedيَتَرَبَّصْنَyatarabbaṣnashall waitبِأَنفُسِهِنَّbi-anfusihinnaconcerning themselvesثَلَـٰثَةَthalāthata(for) threeقُرُوٓءٍۢ ۚqurūinmonthly periodsوَلَاwalāAnd (it is) notيَحِلُّyaḥillulawfulلَهُنَّlahunnafor themأَنanthatيَكْتُمْنَyaktum'nathey concealمَاmāwhatخَلَقَkhalaqa(has been) createdٱللَّهُl-lahu(by) Allahفِىٓfīinأَرْحَامِهِنَّarḥāmihinnatheir wombsإِنinifكُنَّkunnatheyيُؤْمِنَّyu'minnabelieveبِٱللَّهِbil-lahiin Allahوَٱلْيَوْمِwal-yawmiand the Dayٱلْـَٔاخِرِ ۚl-ākhiri[the] LastوَبُعُولَتُهُنَّwabuʿūlatuhunnaAnd their husbandsأَحَقُّaḥaqqu(have) better rightبِرَدِّهِنَّbiraddihinnato take them backفِىfīinذَٰلِكَdhālikathat (period)إِنْinifأَرَادُوٓا۟arādūthey wishإِصْلَـٰحًۭا ۚiṣ'lāḥan(for) reconciliationوَلَهُنَّwalahunnaAnd for themمِثْلُmith'lu(is the) likeٱلَّذِىalladhī(of) that whichعَلَيْهِنَّʿalayhinna(is) on themبِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ ۚbil-maʿrūfiin a reasonable mannerوَلِلرِّجَالِwalilrrijāliand for the menعَلَيْهِنَّʿalayhinnaover themدَرَجَةٌۭ ۗdarajatun(is) a degreeوَٱللَّهُwal-lahuAnd Allahعَزِيزٌʿazīzun(is) All-MightyحَكِيمٌḥakīmunAll-Wise
2:228
ٱلطَّلَـٰقُal-ṭalāquThe divorceمَرَّتَانِ ۖmarratāni(is) twiceفَإِمْسَاكٌۢfa-im'sākunThen to retainبِمَعْرُوفٍbimaʿrūfinin a reasonable mannerأَوْaworتَسْرِيحٌۢtasrīḥunto release (her)بِإِحْسَـٰنٍۢ ۗbi-iḥ'sāninwith kindnessوَلَاwalāAnd (it is) notيَحِلُّyaḥillulawfulلَكُمْlakumfor youأَنanthatتَأْخُذُوا۟takhudhūyou take (back)مِمَّآmimmāwhateverءَاتَيْتُمُوهُنَّātaytumūhunnayou have given themشَيْـًٔاshayananythingإِلَّآillāexceptأَنanifيَخَافَآyakhāfāboth fearأَلَّاallāthat notيُقِيمَاyuqīmāthey both (can) keepحُدُودَḥudūda(the) limitsٱللَّهِ ۖl-lahi(of) Allahفَإِنْfa-inBut ifخِفْتُمْkhif'tumyou fearأَلَّاallāthat notيُقِيمَاyuqīmāthey both (can) keepحُدُودَḥudūda(the) limitsٱللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allahفَلَاfalāthen (there is) noجُنَاحَjunāḥasinعَلَيْهِمَاʿalayhimāon both of themفِيمَاfīmāin whatٱفْتَدَتْif'tadatshe ransomsبِهِۦ ۗbihiconcerning itتِلْكَtil'kaTheseحُدُودُḥudūdu(are the) limitsٱللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allahفَلَاfalāso (do) notتَعْتَدُوهَا ۚtaʿtadūhātransgress themوَمَنwamanAnd whoeverيَتَعَدَّyataʿaddatransgressesحُدُودَḥudūda(the) limitsٱللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allahفَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَfa-ulāikathen those هُمُhumutheyٱلظَّـٰلِمُونَl-ẓālimūna(are) the wrongdoers
2:229
فَإِنfa-inThen ifطَلَّقَهَاṭallaqahāhe divorces herفَلَاfalāthen (she is) notتَحِلُّtaḥillulawfulلَهُۥlahufor himمِنۢminfromبَعْدُbaʿduafter (that)حَتَّىٰḥattāuntilتَنكِحَtankiḥashe marriesزَوْجًاzawjana spouseغَيْرَهُۥ ۗghayrahuother than himفَإِنfa-inThen ifطَلَّقَهَاṭallaqahāhe divorces herفَلَاfalāthen noجُنَاحَjunāḥasinعَلَيْهِمَآʿalayhimāon themأَنanifيَتَرَاجَعَآyatarājaʿāthey return to each otherإِنinifظَنَّآẓannāthey believeأَنanthatيُقِيمَاyuqīmāthey (will be able to) keepحُدُودَḥudūda(the) limitsٱللَّهِ ۗl-lahi(of) Allahوَتِلْكَwatil'kaAnd theseحُدُودُḥudūdu(are the) limitsٱللَّهِl-lahi(of) AllahيُبَيِّنُهَاyubayyinuhāHe makes them clearلِقَوْمٍۢliqawminto a peopleيَعْلَمُونَyaʿlamūnawho know
