إِن نَّقُولُ إِلَّا ٱعْتَرَٮٰكَ بَعْضُ ءَالِهَتِنَا بِسُوٓءٍۗ قَالَ إِنِّىٓ أُشْهِدُ ٱللَّهَ وَٱشْهَدُوٓاْ أَنِّى بَرِىٓءٌ مِّمَّا تُشْرِكُونَ 54
مِن دُونِهِۦۖ فَكِيدُونِى جَمِيعًا ثُمَّ لَا تُنظِرُونِ 55
إِنِّى تَوَكَّلْتُ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ رَبِّى وَرَبِّكُمۚ مَّا مِن دَآبَّةٍ إِلَّا هُوَ ءَاخِذُۢ بِنَاصِيَتِهَآۚ إِنَّ رَبِّى عَلَىٰ صِرَٲطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ 56
فَإِن تَوَلَّوْاْ فَقَدْ أَبْلَغْتُكُم مَّآ أُرْسِلْتُ بِهِۦٓ إِلَيْكُمْۚ وَيَسْتَخْلِفُ رَبِّى قَوْمًا غَيْرَكُمْ وَلَا تَضُرُّونَهُۥ شَيْــًٔاۚ إِنَّ رَبِّى عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ حَفِيظٌ 57
وَلَمَّا جَآءَ أَمْرُنَا نَجَّيْنَا هُودًا وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ مَعَهُۥ بِرَحْمَةٍ مِّنَّا وَنَجَّيْنَـٰهُم مِّنْ عَذَابٍ غَلِيظٍ 58
وَتِلْكَ عَادٌۖ جَحَدُواْ بِـَٔـايَـٰتِ رَبِّهِمْ وَعَصَوْاْ رُسُلَهُۥ وَٱتَّبَعُوٓاْ أَمْرَ كُلِّ جَبَّارٍ عَنِيدٍ 59
وَأُتْبِعُواْ فِى هَـٰذِهِ ٱلدُّنْيَا لَعْنَةً وَيَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِۗ أَلَآ إِنَّ عَادًا كَفَرُواْ رَبَّهُمْۗ أَلَا بُعْدًا لِّعَادٍ قَوْمِ هُودٍ 60
۞ وَإِلَىٰ ثَمُودَ أَخَاهُمْ صَـٰلِحًاۚ قَالَ يَـٰقَوْمِ ٱعْبُدُواْ ٱللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنْ إِلَـٰهٍ غَيْرُهُۥۖ هُوَ أَنشَأَكُم مِّنَ ٱلْأَرْضِ وَٱسْتَعْمَرَكُمْ فِيهَا فَٱسْتَغْفِرُوهُ ثُمَّ تُوبُوٓاْ إِلَيْهِۚ إِنَّ رَبِّى قَرِيبٌ مُّجِيبٌ 61
قَالُواْ يَـٰصَـٰلِحُ قَدْ كُنتَ فِينَا مَرْجُوًّا قَبْلَ هَـٰذَآۖ أَتَنْهَـٰنَآ أَن نَّعْبُدَ مَا يَعْبُدُ ءَابَآؤُنَا وَإِنَّنَا لَفِى شَكٍّ مِّمَّا تَدْعُونَآ إِلَيْهِ مُرِيبٍ 62
إِنinNotنَّقُولُnaqūluwe sayإِلَّاillāexcept (that)ٱعْتَرَىٰكَiʿ'tarākahave seized youبَعْضُbaʿḍusomeءَالِهَتِنَاālihatinā(of) our godsبِسُوٓءٍۢ ۗbisūinwith evilقَالَqālaHe saidإِنِّىٓinnīIndeed, Iأُشْهِدُush'hidu[I] call Allah to witnessٱللَّهَl-laha[I] call Allah to witnessوَٱشْهَدُوٓا۟wa-ish'hadūand (you) bear witnessأَنِّىannīthat I amبَرِىٓءٌۭbarīoninnocentمِّمَّاmimmāof whatتُشْرِكُونَtush'rikūnayou associate
11:54
مِنminOther than Himدُونِهِۦ ۖdūnihiOther than HimفَكِيدُونِىfakīdūnīSo plot against meجَمِيعًۭاjamīʿanall togetherثُمَّthummathenلَاlā(do) notتُنظِرُونِtunẓirūnigive me respite
11:55
إِنِّىinnīIndeed, Iتَوَكَّلْتُtawakkaltu[I] put my trustعَلَىʿalāuponٱللَّهِl-lahiAllahرَبِّىrabbīmy Lordوَرَبِّكُم ۚwarabbikumand your Lordمَّاmā(There is) notمِنminof a moving creatureدَآبَّةٍdābbatinof a moving creatureإِلَّاillābutهُوَhuwaHeءَاخِذٌۢākhidhunhas graspبِنَاصِيَتِهَآ ۚbināṣiyatihāof its forelockإِنَّinnaIndeedرَبِّىrabbīmy Lordعَلَىٰʿalā(is) onصِرَٰطٍۢṣirāṭina pathمُّسْتَقِيمٍۢmus'taqīminstraight
11:56
فَإِنfa-inSo ifتَوَلَّوْا۟tawallawyou turn awayفَقَدْfaqadthen verilyأَبْلَغْتُكُمablaghtukumI have conveyed to youمَّآmāwhatأُرْسِلْتُur'sil'tuI was sentبِهِۦٓbihiwith [it]إِلَيْكُمْ ۚilaykumto youوَيَسْتَخْلِفُwayastakhlifuAnd my Lord will give successionرَبِّىrabbīAnd my Lord will give successionقَوْمًاqawman(to) a peopleغَيْرَكُمْghayrakumother than youوَلَاwalāand notتَضُرُّونَهُۥtaḍurrūnahuyou will harm Himشَيْـًٔا ۚshayan(in) anythingإِنَّinnaIndeedرَبِّىrabbīmy Lordعَلَىٰʿalā(is) onكُلِّkulliallشَىْءٍshayinthingsحَفِيظٌۭḥafīẓuna Guardian
11:57
وَلَمَّاwalammāAnd whenجَآءَjāacameأَمْرُنَاamrunāOur commandنَجَّيْنَاnajjaynāWe savedهُودًۭاhūdanHudوَٱلَّذِينَwa-alladhīnaand those whoءَامَنُوا۟āmanūbelievedمَعَهُۥmaʿahuwith himبِرَحْمَةٍۢbiraḥmatinby a Mercyمِّنَّاminnāfrom Usوَنَجَّيْنَـٰهُمwanajjaynāhumand We saved themمِّنْminfromعَذَابٍʿadhābina punishmentغَلِيظٍۢghalīẓinsevere
11:58
وَتِلْكَwatil'kaAnd thisعَادٌۭ ۖʿādun(was) Aadجَحَدُوا۟jaḥadūthey rejectedبِـَٔايَـٰتِbiāyāti(the) Signsرَبِّهِمْrabbihim(of) their Lordوَعَصَوْا۟waʿaṣawand disobeyedرُسُلَهُۥrusulahuHis Messengersوَٱتَّبَعُوٓا۟wa-ittabaʿūand followedأَمْرَamra(the) commandكُلِّkulli(of) everyجَبَّارٍjabbārintyrantعَنِيدٍۢʿanīdinobstinate
11:59
وَأُتْبِعُوا۟wa-ut'biʿūAnd they were followedفِىfīinهَـٰذِهِhādhihithisٱلدُّنْيَاl-dun'yāworldلَعْنَةًۭlaʿnatan(with) a curseوَيَوْمَwayawmaand (on the) Dayٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ ۗl-qiyāmati(of) the ResurrectionأَلَآalāNo doubtإِنَّinnaIndeedعَادًۭاʿādanAadكَفَرُوا۟kafarūdisbelievedرَبَّهُمْ ۗrabbahumtheir LordأَلَاalāSoبُعْدًۭاbuʿ'danawayلِّعَادٍۢliʿādinwith Aadقَوْمِqawmi(the) peopleهُودٍۢhūdin(of) Hud
11:60
۞ وَإِلَىٰwa-ilāAnd toثَمُودَthamūdaThamudأَخَاهُمْakhāhum(We sent) their brotherصَـٰلِحًۭا ۚṣāliḥanSalihقَالَqālaHe saidيَـٰقَوْمِyāqawmiO my peopleٱعْبُدُوا۟uʿ'budūWorshipٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahمَاmānotلَكُمlakumyou haveمِّنْminanyإِلَـٰهٍilāhingodغَيْرُهُۥ ۖghayruhuother than HimهُوَhuwaHeأَنشَأَكُمansha-akumproduced youمِّنَminafromٱلْأَرْضِl-arḍithe earthوَٱسْتَعْمَرَكُمْwa-is'taʿmarakumand settled youفِيهَاfīhāin itفَٱسْتَغْفِرُوهُfa-is'taghfirūhuSo ask forgiveness of Himثُمَّthummathenتُوبُوٓا۟tūbūturn in repentanceإِلَيْهِ ۚilayhito HimإِنَّinnaIndeedرَبِّىrabbīmy Lordقَرِيبٌۭqarībun(is) nearمُّجِيبٌۭmujībunAll-Responsive
11:61
قَالُوا۟qālūThey saidيَـٰصَـٰلِحُyāṣāliḥuO SalihقَدْqadVerilyكُنتَkuntayou wereفِينَاfīnāamong usمَرْجُوًّۭاmarjuwwanthe one in whom hope was placedقَبْلَqablabeforeهَـٰذَآ ۖhādhāthisأَتَنْهَىٰنَآatanhānāDo you forbid usأَنanthatنَّعْبُدَnaʿbudawe worshipمَاmāwhatيَعْبُدُyaʿbuduour forefathers worshippedءَابَآؤُنَاābāunāour forefathers worshippedوَإِنَّنَاwa-innanāAnd indeed weلَفِىlafīsurely (are) inشَكٍّۢshakkindoubtمِّمَّاmimmāabout whatتَدْعُونَآtadʿūnāyou call usإِلَيْهِilayhito itمُرِيبٍۢmurībinsuspicious
11:62
