قَالَ يَـٰمُوسَىٰٓ إِنِّى ٱصْطَفَيْتُكَ عَلَى ٱلنَّاسِ بِرِسَـٰلَـٰتِى وَبِكَلَـٰمِى فَخُذْ مَآ ءَاتَيْتُكَ وَكُن مِّنَ ٱلشَّـٰكِرِينَ 144
وَكَتَبْنَا لَهُۥ فِى ٱلْأَلْوَاحِ مِن كُلِّ شَىْءٍ مَّوْعِظَةً وَتَفْصِيلاً لِّكُلِّ شَىْءٍ فَخُذْهَا بِقُوَّةٍ وَأْمُرْ قَوْمَكَ يَأْخُذُواْ بِأَحْسَنِهَاۚ سَأُوْرِيكُمْ دَارَ ٱلْفَـٰسِقِينَ 145
سَأَصْرِفُ عَنْ ءَايَـٰتِىَ ٱلَّذِينَ يَتَكَبَّرُونَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ بِغَيْرِ ٱلْحَقِّ وَإِن يَرَوْاْ كُلَّ ءَايَةٍ لَّا يُؤْمِنُواْ بِهَا وَإِن يَرَوْاْ سَبِيلَ ٱلرُّشْدِ لَا يَتَّخِذُوهُ سَبِيلاً وَإِن يَرَوْاْ سَبِيلَ ٱلْغَىِّ يَتَّخِذُوهُ سَبِيلاًۚ ذَٲلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ كَذَّبُواْ بِـَٔـايَـٰتِنَا وَكَانُواْ عَنْهَا غَـٰفِلِينَ 146
وَٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُواْ بِـَٔـايَـٰتِنَا وَلِقَآءِ ٱلْأَخِرَةِ حَبِطَتْ أَعْمَـٰلُهُمْۚ هَلْ يُجْزَوْنَ إِلَّا مَا كَانُواْ يَعْمَلُونَ 147
وَٱتَّخَذَ قَوْمُ مُوسَىٰ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِۦ مِنْ حُلِيِّهِمْ عِجْلاً جَسَدًا لَّهُۥ خُوَارٌۚ أَلَمْ يَرَوْاْ أَنَّهُۥ لَا يُكَلِّمُهُمْ وَلَا يَهْدِيهِمْ سَبِيلاًۘ ٱتَّخَذُوهُ وَكَانُواْ ظَـٰلِمِينَ 148
وَلَمَّا سُقِطَ فِىٓ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَرَأَوْاْ أَنَّهُمْ قَدْ ضَلُّواْ قَالُواْ لَئِن لَّمْ يَرْحَمْنَا رَبُّنَا وَيَغْفِرْ لَنَا لَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْخَـٰسِرِينَ 149
قَالَqālaHe saidيَـٰمُوسَىٰٓyāmūsāO MusaإِنِّىinnīIndeed, Iٱصْطَفَيْتُكَiṣ'ṭafaytukahave chosen youعَلَىʿalāoverٱلنَّاسِl-nāsithe peopleبِرِسَـٰلَـٰتِىbirisālātīwith My Messagesوَبِكَلَـٰمِىwabikalāmīand with My wordsفَخُذْfakhudhSo takeمَآmāwhatءَاتَيْتُكَātaytukaI have given youوَكُنwakunand beمِّنَminaamongٱلشَّـٰكِرِينَl-shākirīnathe grateful
7:144
وَكَتَبْنَاwakatabnāAnd We ordained (laws)لَهُۥlahufor himفِىfīinٱلْأَلْوَاحِl-alwāḥithe tablets مِنminofكُلِّkullieveryشَىْءٍۢshayinthingمَّوْعِظَةًۭmawʿiẓatanan instructionوَتَفْصِيلًۭاwatafṣīlanand explanationلِّكُلِّlikullifor everyشَىْءٍۢshayinthingفَخُذْهَاfakhudh'hāSo take themبِقُوَّةٍۢbiquwwatinwith firmnessوَأْمُرْwamurand orderقَوْمَكَqawmakayour peopleيَأْخُذُوا۟yakhudhū(to) takeبِأَحْسَنِهَا ۚbi-aḥsanihā(the) best of itسَأُو۟رِيكُمْsa-urīkumI will show youدَارَdāra(the) homeٱلْفَـٰسِقِينَl-fāsiqīna(of) the defiantly disobedient
7:145
سَأَصْرِفُsa-aṣrifuI will turn awayعَنْʿanfromءَايَـٰتِىَāyātiyaMy Signsٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoيَتَكَبَّرُونَyatakabbarūnaare arrogantفِىfīinٱلْأَرْضِl-arḍithe earthبِغَيْرِbighayriwithoutٱلْحَقِّl-ḥaqi[the] rightوَإِنwa-inand ifيَرَوْا۟yarawthey seeكُلَّkullaeveryءَايَةٍۢāyatinsignلَّاlānotيُؤْمِنُوا۟yu'minū(will) they believeبِهَاbihāin itوَإِنwa-inAnd ifيَرَوْا۟yarawthey seeسَبِيلَsabīla(the) wayٱلرُّشْدِl-rush'di(of) the righteousnessلَاlānotيَتَّخِذُوهُyattakhidhūhu(will) they take itسَبِيلًۭاsabīlan(as) a wayوَإِنwa-inbut ifيَرَوْا۟yarawthey seeسَبِيلَsabīla(the) wayٱلْغَىِّl-ghayi(of) [the] errorيَتَّخِذُوهُyattakhidhūhuthey will take itسَبِيلًۭا ۚsabīlan(as) a wayذَٰلِكَdhālikaThatبِأَنَّهُمْbi-annahum(is) because theyكَذَّبُوا۟kadhabūdeniedبِـَٔايَـٰتِنَاbiāyātināOur Signsوَكَانُوا۟wakānūand they wereعَنْهَاʿanhāof themغَـٰفِلِينَghāfilīnaheedless
7:146
وَٱلَّذِينَwa-alladhīnaAnd those whoكَذَّبُوا۟kadhabūdeniedبِـَٔايَـٰتِنَاbiāyātināOur Signsوَلِقَآءِwaliqāiand (the) meetingٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِl-ākhirati(of) the Hereafter حَبِطَتْḥabiṭatworthlessأَعْمَـٰلُهُمْ ۚaʿmāluhum(are) their deedsهَلْhalWillيُجْزَوْنَyuj'zawnathey be recompensedإِلَّاillāexceptمَاmā(for) whatكَانُوا۟kānūthey used toيَعْمَلُونَyaʿmalūnado
7:147
وَٱتَّخَذَwa-ittakhadhaAnd tookقَوْمُqawmu(the) peopleمُوسَىٰmūsā(of) Musaمِنۢminfromبَعْدِهِۦbaʿdihiafter himمِنْminfromحُلِيِّهِمْḥuliyyihimtheir ornamentsعِجْلًۭاʿij'lana calf جَسَدًۭاjasadanan imageلَّهُۥlahu[for] itخُوَارٌ ۚkhuwārun(had) a lowing soundأَلَمْalamDid notيَرَوْا۟yarawthey seeأَنَّهُۥannahuthat itلَاlā(could) notيُكَلِّمُهُمْyukallimuhumspeak to themوَلَاwalāand notيَهْدِيهِمْyahdīhimguide themسَبِيلًا ۘsabīlan(to) a wayٱتَّخَذُوهُittakhadhūhuThey took it (for worship)وَكَانُوا۟wakānūand they wereظَـٰلِمِينَẓālimīnawrongdoers
7:148
وَلَمَّاwalammāAnd whenسُقِطَsuqiṭa(it was made to) fallفِىٓfīintoأَيْدِيهِمْaydīhimtheir handsوَرَأَوْا۟wara-awand they sawأَنَّهُمْannahumthat theyقَدْqad(had) indeedضَلُّوا۟ḍallūgone astrayقَالُوا۟qālūthey saidلَئِنla-inIfلَّمْlamnotيَرْحَمْنَاyarḥamnāhas Mercy on usرَبُّنَاrabbunāOur Lordوَيَغْفِرْwayaghfirand forgiveلَنَاlanā[for] usلَنَكُونَنَّlanakūnannawe will surely beمِنَminaamongٱلْخَـٰسِرِينَl-khāsirīnathe losers
7:149
