ذَٲلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ شَآقُّواْ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥۖ وَمَن يُشَآقِّ ٱللَّهَ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ شَدِيدُ ٱلْعِقَابِ 4
مَا قَطَعْتُم مِّن لِّينَةٍ أَوْ تَرَكْتُمُوهَا قَآئِمَةً عَلَىٰٓ أُصُولِهَا فَبِإِذْنِ ٱللَّهِ وَلِيُخْزِىَ ٱلْفَـٰسِقِينَ 5
وَمَآ أَفَآءَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ رَسُولِهِۦ مِنْهُمْ فَمَآ أَوْجَفْتُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ خَيْلٍ وَلَا رِكَابٍ وَلَـٰكِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُسَلِّطُ رُسُلَهُۥ عَلَىٰ مَن يَشَآءُۚ وَٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ 6
مَّآ أَفَآءَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ رَسُولِهِۦ مِنْ أَهْلِ ٱلْقُرَىٰ فَلِلَّهِ وَلِلرَّسُولِ وَلِذِى ٱلْقُرْبَىٰ وَٱلْيَتَـٰمَىٰ وَٱلْمَسَـٰكِينِ وَٱبْنِ ٱلسَّبِيلِ كَىْ لَا يَكُونَ دُولَةَۢ بَيْنَ ٱلْأَغْنِيَآءِ مِنكُمْۚ وَمَآ ءَاتَـٰكُمُ ٱلرَّسُولُ فَخُذُوهُ وَمَا نَهَـٰكُمْ عَنْهُ فَٱنتَهُواْۚ وَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَۖ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ شَدِيدُ ٱلْعِقَابِ 7
لِلْفُقَرَآءِ ٱلْمُهَـٰجِرِينَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُخْرِجُواْ مِن دِيَـٰرِهِمْ وَأَمْوَٲلِهِمْ يَبْتَغُونَ فَضْلاً مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَرِضْوَٲنًا وَيَنصُرُونَ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥٓۚ أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلصَّـٰدِقُونَ 8
وَٱلَّذِينَ تَبَوَّءُو ٱلدَّارَ وَٱلْإِيمَـٰنَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ يُحِبُّونَ مَنْ هَاجَرَ إِلَيْهِمْ وَلَا يَجِدُونَ فِى صُدُورِهِمْ حَاجَةً مِّمَّآ أُوتُواْ وَيُؤْثِرُونَ عَلَىٰٓ أَنفُسِهِمْ وَلَوْ كَانَ بِهِمْ خَصَاصَةٌۚ وَمَن يُوقَ شُحَّ نَفْسِهِۦ فَأُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْمُفْلِحُونَ 9
ذَٰلِكَdhālikaThatبِأَنَّهُمْbi-annahum(is) because [they]شَآقُّوا۟shāqqūthey opposedٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahوَرَسُولَهُۥ ۖwarasūlahuand His MessengerوَمَنwamanAnd whoeverيُشَآقِّyushāqqiopposesٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahفَإِنَّfa-innathen indeedٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahشَدِيدُshadīdu(is) severeٱلْعِقَابِl-ʿiqābi(in) penalty
59:4
مَاmāWhateverقَطَعْتُمqaṭaʿtumyou cut downمِّنminofلِّينَةٍlīnatin(the) palm-treesأَوْaworتَرَكْتُمُوهَاtaraktumūhāyou left themقَآئِمَةًqāimatanstandingعَلَىٰٓʿalāonأُصُولِهَاuṣūlihātheir rootsفَبِإِذْنِfabi-idh'niit (was) by the permissionٱللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allahوَلِيُخْزِىَwaliyukh'ziyaand that He may disgraceٱلْفَـٰسِقِينَl-fāsiqīnathe defiantly disobedient
59:5
وَمَآwamāAnd whatأَفَآءَafāa(was) restoredٱللَّهُl-lahu(by) AllahعَلَىٰʿalātoرَسُولِهِۦrasūlihiHis Messengerمِنْهُمْmin'humfrom themفَمَآfamāthen notأَوْجَفْتُمْawjaftumyou made expeditionعَلَيْهِʿalayhifor itمِنْminofخَيْلٍۢkhaylinhorsesوَلَاwalāand notرِكَابٍۢrikābincamelsوَلَـٰكِنَّwalākinnabutٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahيُسَلِّطُyusalliṭugives powerرُسُلَهُۥrusulahu(to) His Messengersعَلَىٰʿalāoverمَنmanwhomيَشَآءُ ۚyashāuHe willsوَٱللَّهُwal-lahuAnd Allahعَلَىٰʿalā(is) onكُلِّkullieveryشَىْءٍۢshayinthingقَدِيرٌۭqadīrunAll-Powerful
59:6
مَّآmāWhatأَفَآءَafāa(was) restoredٱللَّهُl-lahu(by) AllahعَلَىٰʿalātoرَسُولِهِۦrasūlihiHis Messengerمِنْminfromأَهْلِahli(the) peopleٱلْقُرَىٰl-qurā(of) the townsفَلِلَّهِfalillahi(it is) for Allahوَلِلرَّسُولِwalilrrasūliand His Messengerوَلِذِىwalidhīand for thoseٱلْقُرْبَىٰl-qur'bā(of) the kindredوَٱلْيَتَـٰمَىٰwal-yatāmāand the orphansوَٱلْمَسَـٰكِينِwal-masākīniand the needyوَٱبْنِwa-ib'niandٱلسَّبِيلِl-sabīlithe wayfarerكَىْkaythatلَاlānotيَكُونَyakūnait becomesدُولَةًۢdūlatana (perpetual) circulationبَيْنَbaynabetweenٱلْأَغْنِيَآءِl-aghniyāithe richمِنكُمْ ۚminkumamong youوَمَآwamāAnd whateverءَاتَىٰكُمُātākumugives youٱلرَّسُولُl-rasūluthe Messengerفَخُذُوهُfakhudhūhutake itوَمَاwamāand whateverنَهَىٰكُمْnahākumhe forbids youعَنْهُʿanhufrom itفَٱنتَهُوا۟ ۚfa-intahūrefrainوَٱتَّقُوا۟wa-ittaqūAnd fearٱللَّهَ ۖl-lahaAllahإِنَّinnaIndeedٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahشَدِيدُshadīdu(is) severeٱلْعِقَابِl-ʿiqābi(in) penalty
59:7
لِلْفُقَرَآءِlil'fuqarāiFor the poorٱلْمُهَـٰجِرِينَl-muhājirīnaemigrantsٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoأُخْرِجُوا۟ukh'rijūwere expelledمِنminfromدِيَـٰرِهِمْdiyārihimtheir homesوَأَمْوَٰلِهِمْwa-amwālihimand their propertiesيَبْتَغُونَyabtaghūnaseekingفَضْلًۭاfaḍlanbountyمِّنَminafromٱللَّهِl-lahiAllahوَرِضْوَٰنًۭاwariḍ'wānanand pleasureوَيَنصُرُونَwayanṣurūnaand helpingٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahوَرَسُولَهُۥٓ ۚwarasūlahuand His Messengerأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَulāikaThoseهُمُhumutheyٱلصَّـٰدِقُونَl-ṣādiqūna(are) the truthful
59:8
وَٱلَّذِينَwa-alladhīnaAnd those whoتَبَوَّءُوtabawwaūsettledٱلدَّارَl-dāra(in) the homeوَٱلْإِيمَـٰنَwal-īmānaand (accepted) faithمِنminfromقَبْلِهِمْqablihimbefore themيُحِبُّونَyuḥibbūnaloveمَنْman(those) whoهَاجَرَhājaraemigratedإِلَيْهِمْilayhimto themوَلَاwalāand notيَجِدُونَyajidūnathey findفِىfīinصُدُورِهِمْṣudūrihimtheir breastsحَاجَةًۭḥājatanany wantمِّمَّآmimmāof whatأُوتُوا۟ūtūthey were givenوَيُؤْثِرُونَwayu'thirūnabut preferعَلَىٰٓʿalāoverأَنفُسِهِمْanfusihimthemselvesوَلَوْwalaweven thoughكَانَkānawasبِهِمْbihimwith themخَصَاصَةٌۭ ۚkhaṣāṣatunpovertyوَمَنwamanAnd whoeverيُوقَyūqais savedشُحَّshuḥḥa(from) stinginessنَفْسِهِۦnafsihi(of) his soulفَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَfa-ulāikathen thoseهُمُhumu[they]ٱلْمُفْلِحُونَl-muf'liḥūna(are) the successful ones
59:9
