وَإِذْ أَخَذْنَا مِنَ ٱلنَّبِيِّــۧنَ مِيثَـٰقَهُمْ وَمِنكَ وَمِن نُّوحٍ وَإِبْرَٲهِيمَ وَمُوسَىٰ وَعِيسَى ٱبْنِ مَرْيَمَۖ وَأَخَذْنَا مِنْهُم مِّيثَـٰقًا غَلِيظًا 7
لِّيَسْــَٔلَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ عَن صِدْقِهِمْۚ وَأَعَدَّ لِلْكَـٰفِرِينَ عَذَابًا أَلِيمًا 8
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ ٱذْكُرُواْ نِعْمَةَ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ إِذْ جَآءَتْكُمْ جُنُودٌ فَأَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ رِيحًا وَجُنُودًا لَّمْ تَرَوْهَاۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ بَصِيرًا 9
إِذْ جَآءُوكُم مِّن فَوْقِكُمْ وَمِنْ أَسْفَلَ مِنكُمْ وَإِذْ زَاغَتِ ٱلْأَبْصَـٰرُ وَبَلَغَتِ ٱلْقُلُوبُ ٱلْحَنَاجِرَ وَتَظُنُّونَ بِٱللَّهِ ٱلظُّنُونَا۟ 10
هُنَالِكَ ٱبْتُلِىَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ وَزُلْزِلُواْ زِلْزَالاً شَدِيدًا 11
وَإِذْ يَقُولُ ٱلْمُنَـٰفِقُونَ وَٱلَّذِينَ فِى قُلُوبِهِم مَّرَضٌ مَّا وَعَدَنَا ٱللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُۥٓ إِلَّا غُرُورًا 12
وَإِذْ قَالَت طَّآئِفَةٌ مِّنْهُمْ يَـٰٓأَهْلَ يَثْرِبَ لَا مُقَامَ لَكُمْ فَٱرْجِعُواْۚ وَيَسْتَــْٔذِنُ فَرِيقٌ مِّنْهُمُ ٱلنَّبِىَّ يَقُولُونَ إِنَّ بُيُوتَنَا عَوْرَةٌ وَمَا هِىَ بِعَوْرَةٍۖ إِن يُرِيدُونَ إِلَّا فِرَارًا 13
وَلَوْ دُخِلَتْ عَلَيْهِم مِّنْ أَقْطَارِهَا ثُمَّ سُئِلُواْ ٱلْفِتْنَةَ لَأَتَوْهَا وَمَا تَلَبَّثُواْ بِهَآ إِلَّا يَسِيرًا 14
وَلَقَدْ كَانُواْ عَـٰهَدُواْ ٱللَّهَ مِن قَبْلُ لَا يُوَلُّونَ ٱلْأَدْبَـٰرَۚ وَكَانَ عَهْدُ ٱللَّهِ مَسْــُٔولاً 15
وَإِذْwa-idhAnd whenأَخَذْنَاakhadhnāWe tookمِنَminafromٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَl-nabiyīnathe Prophetsمِيثَـٰقَهُمْmīthāqahumtheir Covenantوَمِنكَwaminkaand from youوَمِنwaminand fromنُّوحٍۢnūḥinNuhوَإِبْرَٰهِيمَwa-ib'rāhīmaand Ibrahimوَمُوسَىٰwamūsāand Musaوَعِيسَىwaʿīsāand Isaٱبْنِib'nisonمَرْيَمَ ۖmaryama(of) Maryamوَأَخَذْنَاwa-akhadhnāAnd We tookمِنْهُمmin'humfrom themمِّيثَـٰقًاmīthāqana covenantغَلِيظًۭاghalīẓanstrong
33:7
لِّيَسْـَٔلَliyasalaThat He may askٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَl-ṣādiqīnathe truthfulعَنʿanaboutصِدْقِهِمْ ۚṣid'qihimtheir truthوَأَعَدَّwa-aʿaddaAnd He has preparedلِلْكَـٰفِرِينَlil'kāfirīnafor the disbelieversعَذَابًاʿadhābana punishmentأَلِيمًۭاalīmanpainful
33:8
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَاyāayyuhāO youٱلَّذِينَalladhīnawhoءَامَنُوا۟āmanūbelieveٱذْكُرُوا۟udh'kurūRememberنِعْمَةَniʿ'mata(the) Favorٱللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allahعَلَيْكُمْʿalaykumupon youإِذْidhwhenجَآءَتْكُمْjāatkumcame to youجُنُودٌۭjunūdun(the) hostsفَأَرْسَلْنَاfa-arsalnāand We sentعَلَيْهِمْʿalayhimupon themرِيحًۭاrīḥana windوَجُنُودًۭاwajunūdanand hostsلَّمْlamnotتَرَوْهَا ۚtarawhāyou (could) see themوَكَانَwakānaAnd Allah isٱللَّهُl-lahuAnd Allah isبِمَاbimāof whatتَعْمَلُونَtaʿmalūnayou doبَصِيرًاbaṣīranAll-Seer
33:9
إِذْidhWhenجَآءُوكُمjāūkumthey came upon youمِّنminfromفَوْقِكُمْfawqikumabove youوَمِنْwaminand fromأَسْفَلَasfalabelowمِنكُمْminkumyouوَإِذْwa-idhand whenزَاغَتِzāghatigrew wildٱلْأَبْصَـٰرُl-abṣāruthe eyesوَبَلَغَتِwabalaghatiand reachedٱلْقُلُوبُl-qulūbuthe heartsٱلْحَنَاجِرَl-ḥanājirathe throatsوَتَظُنُّونَwataẓunnūnaand you assumedبِٱللَّهِbil-lahiabout Allahٱلظُّنُونَا۠l-ẓunūnāthe assumptions
33:10
هُنَالِكَhunālikaThere ٱبْتُلِىَub'tuliyawere triedٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَl-mu'minūnathe believersوَزُلْزِلُوا۟wazul'zilūand shakenزِلْزَالًۭاzil'zālan(with a) shakeشَدِيدًۭاshadīdansevere
33:11
وَإِذْwa-idhAnd whenيَقُولُyaqūlusaidٱلْمُنَـٰفِقُونَl-munāfiqūnathe hypocritesوَٱلَّذِينَwa-alladhīnaand thoseفِىfīinقُلُوبِهِمqulūbihimtheir heartsمَّرَضٌۭmaraḍun(was) a diseaseمَّاmāNotوَعَدَنَاwaʿadanāAllah promised usٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah promised usوَرَسُولُهُۥٓwarasūluhuand His messengerإِلَّاillāexceptغُرُورًۭاghurūrandelusion
33:12
وَإِذْwa-idhAnd whenقَالَتqālatsaidطَّآئِفَةٌۭṭāifatuna partyمِّنْهُمْmin'humof themيَـٰٓأَهْلَyāahlaO Peopleيَثْرِبَyathriba(of) YathribلَاlāNoمُقَامَmuqāmastandلَكُمْlakumfor youفَٱرْجِعُوا۟ ۚfa-ir'jiʿūso returnوَيَسْتَـْٔذِنُwayastadhinuAnd asked permissionفَرِيقٌۭfarīquna groupمِّنْهُمُmin'humuof themٱلنَّبِىَّl-nabiya(from) the ProphetيَقُولُونَyaqūlūnasayingإِنَّinnaIndeedبُيُوتَنَاbuyūtanāour housesعَوْرَةٌۭʿawratun(are) exposedوَمَاwamāand notهِىَhiyatheyبِعَوْرَةٍ ۖbiʿawratin(were) exposedإِنinNotيُرِيدُونَyurīdūnathey wishedإِلَّاillābutفِرَارًۭاfirāranto flee
33:13
وَلَوْwalawAnd ifدُخِلَتْdukhilathad been enteredعَلَيْهِمʿalayhimupon themمِّنْminfromأَقْطَارِهَاaqṭārihāall its sidesثُمَّthummathenسُئِلُوا۟su-ilūthey had been askedٱلْفِتْنَةَl-fit'natathe treacheryلَـَٔاتَوْهَاlaātawhāthey (would) have certainly done itوَمَاwamāand notتَلَبَّثُوا۟talabbathūthey (would) have hesitatedبِهَآbihāover itإِلَّاillāexceptيَسِيرًۭاyasīrana little
33:14
وَلَقَدْwalaqadAnd certainlyكَانُوا۟kānūthey hadعَـٰهَدُوا۟ʿāhadūpromisedٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahمِنminbeforeقَبْلُqablubeforeلَاlānotيُوَلُّونَyuwallūnathey would turnٱلْأَدْبَـٰرَ ۚl-adbāratheir backsوَكَانَwakānaAnd isعَهْدُʿahdu(the) promiseٱللَّهِl-lahi(to) Allahمَسْـُٔولًۭاmasūlanto be questioned
33:15
