حَـٰفِظُواْ عَلَى ٱلصَّلَوَٲتِ وَٱلصَّلَوٲةِ ٱلْوُسْطَىٰ وَقُومُواْ لِلَّهِ قَـٰنِتِينَ 238
فَإِنْ خِفْتُمْ فَرِجَالاً أَوْ رُكْبَانًاۖ فَإِذَآ أَمِنتُمْ فَٱذْكُرُواْ ٱللَّهَ كَمَا عَلَّمَكُم مَّا لَمْ تَكُونُواْ تَعْلَمُونَ 239
وَٱلَّذِينَ يُتَوَفَّوْنَ مِنكُمْ وَيَذَرُونَ أَزْوَٲجًا وَصِيَّةً لِّأَزْوَٲجِهِم مَّتَـٰعًا إِلَى ٱلْحَوْلِ غَيْرَ إِخْرَاجٍۚ فَإِنْ خَرَجْنَ فَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْكُمْ فِى مَا فَعَلْنَ فِىٓ أَنفُسِهِنَّ مِن مَّعْرُوفٍۗ وَٱللَّهُ عَزِيزٌ حَكِيمٌ 240
وَلِلْمُطَلَّقَـٰتِ مَتَـٰعُۢ بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِۖ حَقًّا عَلَى ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ 241
كَذَٲلِكَ يُبَيِّنُ ٱللَّهُ لَكُمْ ءَايَـٰتِهِۦ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ 242
۞ أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى ٱلَّذِينَ خَرَجُواْ مِن دِيَـٰرِهِمْ وَهُمْ أُلُوفٌ حَذَرَ ٱلْمَوْتِ فَقَالَ لَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ مُوتُواْ ثُمَّ أَحْيَـٰهُمْۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَذُو فَضْلٍ عَلَى ٱلنَّاسِ وَلَـٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يَشْكُرُونَ 243
وَقَـٰتِلُواْ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ وَٱعْلَمُوٓاْ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ 244
مَّن ذَا ٱلَّذِى يُقْرِضُ ٱللَّهَ قَرْضًا حَسَنًا فَيُضَـٰعِفَهُۥ لَهُۥٓ أَضْعَافًا كَثِيرَةًۚ وَٱللَّهُ يَقْبِضُ وَيَبْصُۜطُ وَإِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ 245
حَـٰفِظُوا۟ḥāfiẓūGuard strictlyعَلَىʿalā[on]ٱلصَّلَوَٰتِl-ṣalawātithe prayersوَٱلصَّلَوٰةِwal-ṣalatiand the prayer ٱلْوُسْطَىٰl-wus'ṭā[the] middleوَقُومُوا۟waqūmūand stand upلِلَّهِlillahifor Allahقَـٰنِتِينَqānitīnadevoutly obedient
2:238
فَإِنْfa-inAnd ifخِفْتُمْkhif'tumyou fearفَرِجَالًاfarijālanthen (pray) on footأَوْaworرُكْبَانًۭا ۖruk'bānanridingفَإِذَآfa-idhāThen whenأَمِنتُمْamintumyou are secureفَٱذْكُرُوا۟fa-udh'kurūthen rememberٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahكَمَاkamāasعَلَّمَكُمʿallamakumHe (has) taught youمَّاmāwhatلَمْlamnotتَكُونُوا۟takūnūyou wereتَعْلَمُونَtaʿlamūnaknowing
2:239
وَٱلَّذِينَwa-alladhīnaAnd those whoيُتَوَفَّوْنَyutawaffawnadieمِنكُمْminkumamong youوَيَذَرُونَwayadharūnaand leave behindأَزْوَٰجًۭاazwājan(their) wivesوَصِيَّةًۭwaṣiyyatan(should make) a willلِّأَزْوَٰجِهِمli-azwājihimfor their wivesمَّتَـٰعًاmatāʿanprovisionإِلَىilāforٱلْحَوْلِl-ḥawlithe yearغَيْرَghayrawithoutإِخْرَاجٍۢ ۚikh'rājindriving (them) outفَإِنْfa-inBut ifخَرَجْنَkharajnathey leaveفَلَاfalāthen noجُنَاحَjunāḥablameعَلَيْكُمْʿalaykumupon youفِىfīinمَاmāwhatفَعَلْنَfaʿalnathey doفِىٓfīconcerningأَنفُسِهِنَّanfusihinnathemselvesمِنmin[of]مَّعْرُوفٍۢ ۗmaʿrūfinhonorablyوَٱللَّهُwal-lahuAnd Allahعَزِيزٌʿazīzun(is) All-MightyحَكِيمٌۭḥakīmunAll-Wise
2:240
وَلِلْمُطَلَّقَـٰتِwalil'muṭallaqātiAnd for the divorced womenمَتَـٰعٌۢmatāʿun(is) a provisionبِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ ۖbil-maʿrūfiin a fair manner حَقًّاḥaqqana dutyعَلَىʿalāuponٱلْمُتَّقِينَl-mutaqīnathe righteous
2:241
كَذَٰلِكَkadhālikaThusيُبَيِّنُyubayyinumakes clearٱللَّهُl-lahuAllahلَكُمْlakumfor youءَايَـٰتِهِۦāyātihiHis Versesلَعَلَّكُمْlaʿallakumso that you mayتَعْقِلُونَtaʿqilūnause your intellect
2:242
۞ أَلَمْalamDid notتَرَtarayou seeإِلَىilā[to]ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoخَرَجُوا۟kharajūwent outمِنminfromدِيَـٰرِهِمْdiyārihimtheir homesوَهُمْwahumand theyأُلُوفٌulūfun(were in) thousandsحَذَرَḥadhara(in) fearٱلْمَوْتِl-mawti(of) [the] deathفَقَالَfaqālaThen saidلَهُمُlahumuto themٱللَّهُl-lahuAllahمُوتُوا۟mūtūDieثُمَّthummathenأَحْيَـٰهُمْ ۚaḥyāhumHe restored them to lifeإِنَّinnaIndeedٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahلَذُوladhū(is) surely Possessorفَضْلٍfaḍlin(of) bountyعَلَىʿalāforٱلنَّاسِl-nāsi[the] mankindوَلَـٰكِنَّwalākinna[and] butأَكْثَرَaktharamostٱلنَّاسِl-nāsi(of) the peopleلَاlā(are) notيَشْكُرُونَyashkurūnagrateful
2:243
وَقَـٰتِلُوا۟waqātilūAnd fightفِىfīinسَبِيلِsabīli(the) wayٱللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allahوَٱعْلَمُوٓا۟wa-iʿ'lamūand knowأَنَّannathatٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahسَمِيعٌsamīʿun(is) All-HearingعَلِيمٌۭʿalīmunAll-Knowing
2:244
مَّنmanWhoذَاdhā(is) the oneٱلَّذِىalladhīwhoيُقْرِضُyuq'riḍuwill lendٱللَّهَl-laha(to) Allah قَرْضًاqarḍana loanحَسَنًۭاḥasanangoodفَيُضَـٰعِفَهُۥfayuḍāʿifahuso (that) He multiplies itلَهُۥٓlahufor him أَضْعَافًۭاaḍʿāfanmanifoldsكَثِيرَةًۭ ۚkathīratanmanyوَٱللَّهُwal-lahuAnd Allahيَقْبِضُyaqbiḍuwithholdsوَيَبْصُۜطُwayabṣuṭuand grants abundanceوَإِلَيْهِwa-ilayhiand to Himتُرْجَعُونَtur'jaʿūnayou will be returned
2:245
