قَالَ هَلْ ءَامَنُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ إِلَّا كَمَآ أَمِنتُكُمْ عَلَىٰٓ أَخِيهِ مِن قَبْلُۖ فَٱللَّهُ خَيْرٌ حَـٰفِظًاۖ وَهُوَ أَرْحَمُ ٱلرَّٲحِمِينَ 64
وَلَمَّا فَتَحُواْ مَتَـٰعَهُمْ وَجَدُواْ بِضَـٰعَتَهُمْ رُدَّتْ إِلَيْهِمْۖ قَالُواْ يَـٰٓأَبَانَا مَا نَبْغِىۖ هَـٰذِهِۦ بِضَـٰعَتُنَا رُدَّتْ إِلَيْنَاۖ وَنَمِيرُ أَهْلَنَا وَنَحْفَظُ أَخَانَا وَنَزْدَادُ كَيْلَ بَعِيرٍۖ ذَٲلِكَ كَيْلٌ يَسِيرٌ 65
قَالَ لَنْ أُرْسِلَهُۥ مَعَكُمْ حَتَّىٰ تُؤْتُونِ مَوْثِقًا مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ لَتَأْتُنَّنِى بِهِۦٓ إِلَّآ أَن يُحَاطَ بِكُمْۖ فَلَمَّآ ءَاتَوْهُ مَوْثِقَهُمْ قَالَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ مَا نَقُولُ وَكِيلٌ 66
وَقَالَ يَـٰبَنِىَّ لَا تَدْخُلُواْ مِنۢ بَابٍ وَٲحِدٍ وَٱدْخُلُواْ مِنْ أَبْوَٲبٍ مُّتَفَرِّقَةٍۖ وَمَآ أُغْنِى عَنكُم مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ مِن شَىْءٍۖ إِنِ ٱلْحُكْمُ إِلَّا لِلَّهِۖ عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُۖ وَعَلَيْهِ فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ ٱلْمُتَوَكِّلُونَ 67
وَلَمَّا دَخَلُواْ مِنْ حَيْثُ أَمَرَهُمْ أَبُوهُم مَّا كَانَ يُغْنِى عَنْهُم مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ مِن شَىْءٍ إِلَّا حَاجَةً فِى نَفْسِ يَعْقُوبَ قَضَـٰهَاۚ وَإِنَّهُۥ لَذُو عِلْمٍ لِّمَا عَلَّمْنَـٰهُ وَلَـٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ 68
وَلَمَّا دَخَلُواْ عَلَىٰ يُوسُفَ ءَاوَىٰٓ إِلَيْهِ أَخَاهُۖ قَالَ إِنِّىٓ أَنَا۟ أَخُوكَ فَلَا تَبْتَئِسْ بِمَا كَانُواْ يَعْمَلُونَ 69
قَالَqālaHe saidهَلْhalShouldءَامَنُكُمْāmanukumI entrust youعَلَيْهِʿalayhiwith himإِلَّاillāexceptكَمَآkamāasأَمِنتُكُمْamintukumI entrusted youعَلَىٰٓʿalāwithأَخِيهِakhīhihis brotherمِنminbeforeقَبْلُ ۖqablubeforeفَٱللَّهُfal-lahuBut Allahخَيْرٌkhayrun(is) the bestحَـٰفِظًۭا ۖḥāfiẓanGuardianوَهُوَwahuwaand Heأَرْحَمُarḥamu(is the) Most Mercifulٱلرَّٰحِمِينَl-rāḥimīna(of) the merciful
12:64
وَلَمَّاwalammāAnd whenفَتَحُوا۟fataḥūthey openedمَتَـٰعَهُمْmatāʿahumtheir baggageوَجَدُوا۟wajadūthey foundبِضَـٰعَتَهُمْbiḍāʿatahumtheir merchandiseرُدَّتْruddatreturnedإِلَيْهِمْ ۖilayhimto themقَالُوا۟qālūThey saidيَـٰٓأَبَانَاyāabānāO our fatherمَاmāWhatنَبْغِى ۖnabghī(could) we desireهَـٰذِهِۦhādhihiThisبِضَـٰعَتُنَاbiḍāʿatunā(is) our merchandiseرُدَّتْruddatreturnedإِلَيْنَا ۖilaynāto usوَنَمِيرُwanamīruAnd we will get provisionأَهْلَنَاahlanā(for) our familyوَنَحْفَظُwanaḥfaẓuand we will protectأَخَانَاakhānāour brotherوَنَزْدَادُwanazdāduand get an increaseكَيْلَkaylameasureبَعِيرٍۢ ۖbaʿīrin(of) a camel's (load)ذَٰلِكَdhālikaThatكَيْلٌۭkaylun(is) a measurementيَسِيرٌۭyasīruneasy
12:65
قَالَqālaHe saidلَنْlanNeverأُرْسِلَهُۥur'silahuwill I send himمَعَكُمْmaʿakumwith youحَتَّىٰḥattāuntilتُؤْتُونِtu'tūniyou give to meمَوْثِقًۭاmawthiqana promiseمِّنَminabyٱللَّهِl-lahiAllahلَتَأْتُنَّنِىlatatunnanīthat surely you will bring him to meبِهِۦٓbihithat surely you will bring him to meإِلَّآillāunlessأَنanthatيُحَاطَyuḥāṭayou are surroundedبِكُمْ ۖbikumyou are surroundedفَلَمَّآfalammāAnd whenءَاتَوْهُātawhuthey had given himمَوْثِقَهُمْmawthiqahumtheir promiseقَالَqālahe saidٱللَّهُl-lahuAllahعَلَىٰʿalāoverمَاmāwhatنَقُولُnaqūluwe sayوَكِيلٌۭwakīlun(is) a Guardian
12:66
وَقَالَwaqālaAnd he saidيَـٰبَنِىَّyābaniyyaO my sonsلَاlā(Do) notتَدْخُلُوا۟tadkhulūenterمِنۢminfromبَابٍۢbābinone gateوَٰحِدٍۢwāḥidinone gateوَٱدْخُلُوا۟wa-ud'khulūbut enterمِنْminfromأَبْوَٰبٍۢabwābingatesمُّتَفَرِّقَةٍۢ ۖmutafarriqatindifferentوَمَآwamāAnd notأُغْنِىugh'nīI can availعَنكُمʿankumyouمِّنَminaagainstٱللَّهِl-lahiAllahمِنminanyشَىْءٍ ۖshayinthingإِنِiniNotٱلْحُكْمُl-ḥuk'mu(is) the decisionإِلَّاillāexceptلِلَّهِ ۖlillahiwith Allahعَلَيْهِʿalayhiupon Himتَوَكَّلْتُ ۖtawakkaltuI put my trustوَعَلَيْهِwaʿalayhiand upon Himفَلْيَتَوَكَّلِfalyatawakkalilet put (their) trustٱلْمُتَوَكِّلُونَl-mutawakilūnathe ones who put trust
12:67
وَلَمَّاwalammāAnd whenدَخَلُوا۟dakhalūthey enteredمِنْminfromحَيْثُḥaythuwhereأَمَرَهُمْamarahumordered themأَبُوهُمabūhumtheir fatherمَّاmānotكَانَkānaitيُغْنِىyugh'nīavail(ed)عَنْهُمʿanhumthemمِّنَminaagainstٱللَّهِl-lahiAllahمِنminanyشَىْءٍshayinthingإِلَّاillābutحَاجَةًۭḥājatan(it was) a needفِىfīofنَفْسِnafsiYaqub's soulيَعْقُوبَyaʿqūbaYaqub's soulقَضَىٰهَا ۚqaḍāhāwhich he carried outوَإِنَّهُۥwa-innahuAnd indeed, heلَذُوladhū(was) a possessorعِلْمٍۢʿil'min(of) knowledgeلِّمَاlimābecauseعَلَّمْنَـٰهُʿallamnāhuWe had taught himوَلَـٰكِنَّwalākinnabutأَكْثَرَaktharamostٱلنَّاسِl-nāsi(of) the peopleلَاlā(do) notيَعْلَمُونَyaʿlamūnaknow
12:68
وَلَمَّاwalammāAnd whenدَخَلُوا۟dakhalūthey enteredعَلَىٰʿalāuponيُوسُفَyūsufaYusufءَاوَىٰٓāwāhe tookإِلَيْهِilayhito himselfأَخَاهُ ۖakhāhuhis brotherقَالَqālaHe saidإِنِّىٓinnīIndeed, Iأَنَا۠anā[I] amأَخُوكَakhūkayour brotherفَلَاfalāso (do) notتَبْتَئِسْtabta-isgrieveبِمَاbimāfor whatكَانُوا۟kānūthey used (to)يَعْمَلُونَyaʿmalūnado
12:69
