كَيْفَ يَكُونُ لِلْمُشْرِكِينَ عَهْدٌ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ وَعِندَ رَسُولِهِۦٓ إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ عَـٰهَدتُّمْ عِندَ ٱلْمَسْجِدِ ٱلْحَرَامِۖ فَمَا ٱسْتَقَـٰمُواْ لَكُمْ فَٱسْتَقِيمُواْ لَهُمْۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ 7
كَيْفَ وَإِن يَظْهَرُواْ عَلَيْكُمْ لَا يَرْقُبُواْ فِيكُمْ إِلاًّ وَلَا ذِمَّةًۚ يُرْضُونَكُم بِأَفْوَٲهِهِمْ وَتَأْبَىٰ قُلُوبُهُمْ وَأَكْثَرُهُمْ فَـٰسِقُونَ 8
ٱشْتَرَوْاْ بِـَٔـايَـٰتِ ٱللَّهِ ثَمَنًا قَلِيلاً فَصَدُّواْ عَن سَبِيلِهِۦٓۚ إِنَّهُمْ سَآءَ مَا كَانُواْ يَعْمَلُونَ 9
لَا يَرْقُبُونَ فِى مُؤْمِنٍ إِلاًّ وَلَا ذِمَّةًۚ وَأُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْمُعْتَدُونَ 10
فَإِن تَابُواْ وَأَقَامُواْ ٱلصَّلَوٲةَ وَءَاتَوُاْ ٱلزَّكَوٲةَ فَإِخْوَٲنُكُمْ فِى ٱلدِّينِۗ وَنُفَصِّلُ ٱلْأَيَـٰتِ لِقَوْمٍ يَعْلَمُونَ 11
وَإِن نَّكَثُوٓاْ أَيْمَـٰنَهُم مِّنۢ بَعْدِ عَهْدِهِمْ وَطَعَنُواْ فِى دِينِكُمْ فَقَـٰتِلُوٓاْ أَئِمَّةَ ٱلْكُفْرِۙ إِنَّهُمْ لَآ أَيْمَـٰنَ لَهُمْ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَنتَهُونَ 12
أَلَا تُقَـٰتِلُونَ قَوْمًا نَّكَثُوٓاْ أَيْمَـٰنَهُمْ وَهَمُّواْ بِإِخْرَاجِ ٱلرَّسُولِ وَهُم بَدَءُوكُمْ أَوَّلَ مَرَّةٍۚ أَتَخْشَوْنَهُمْۚ فَٱللَّهُ أَحَقُّ أَن تَخْشَوْهُ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ 13
كَيْفَkayfaHowيَكُونُyakūnucan (there) beلِلْمُشْرِكِينَlil'mush'rikīnafor the polytheistsعَهْدٌʿahduna covenantعِندَʿindawithٱللَّهِl-lahiAllahوَعِندَwaʿindaand withرَسُولِهِۦٓrasūlihiHis Messengerإِلَّاillāexceptٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose (with) whomعَـٰهَدتُّمْʿāhadttumyou made a covenantعِندَʿindanearٱلْمَسْجِدِl-masjidiAl-Masjidٱلْحَرَامِ ۖl-ḥarāmiAl-HaraamفَمَاfamāSo long asٱسْتَقَـٰمُوا۟is'taqāmūthey are uprightلَكُمْlakumto youفَٱسْتَقِيمُوا۟fa-is'taqīmūthen you be uprightلَهُمْ ۚlahumto themإِنَّinnaIndeedٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahيُحِبُّyuḥibbulovesٱلْمُتَّقِينَl-mutaqīnathe righteous
9:7
كَيْفَkayfaHowوَإِنwa-inwhile, ifيَظْهَرُوا۟yaẓharūthey gain dominanceعَلَيْكُمْʿalaykumover youلَاlāthey do not regard (the ties)يَرْقُبُوا۟yarqubūthey do not regard (the ties)فِيكُمْfīkumwith youإِلًّۭاillan(of) kinshipوَلَاwalāand notذِمَّةًۭ ۚdhimmatancovenant of protectionيُرْضُونَكُمyur'ḍūnakumThey satisfy youبِأَفْوَٰهِهِمْbi-afwāhihimwith their mouthsوَتَأْبَىٰwatabābut refuseقُلُوبُهُمْqulūbuhumtheir heartsوَأَكْثَرُهُمْwa-aktharuhumand most of themفَـٰسِقُونَfāsiqūna(are) defiantly disobedient
9:8
ٱشْتَرَوْا۟ish'tarawThey exchangeبِـَٔايَـٰتِbiāyāti[with] the Verses of Allahٱللَّهِl-lahi[with] the Verses of Allahثَمَنًۭاthamanan(for) a little priceقَلِيلًۭاqalīlan(for) a little priceفَصَدُّوا۟faṣaddūand they hinder (people)عَنʿanfromسَبِيلِهِۦٓ ۚsabīlihiHis wayإِنَّهُمْinnahumIndeedسَآءَsāaevilمَاmā(is) whatكَانُوا۟kānūthey used toيَعْمَلُونَyaʿmalūnado
9:9
لَاlāNotيَرْقُبُونَyarqubūnathey respect (the ties)فِىfītowardsمُؤْمِنٍmu'minina believerإِلًّۭاillan(of) kinshipوَلَاwalāand notذِمَّةًۭ ۚdhimmatancovenant of protectionوَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَwa-ulāikaAnd thoseهُمُhumu[they]ٱلْمُعْتَدُونَl-muʿ'tadūna(are) the transgressors
9:10
فَإِنfa-inBut ifتَابُوا۟tābūthey repentوَأَقَامُوا۟wa-aqāmūand establishٱلصَّلَوٰةَl-ṣalatathe prayerوَءَاتَوُا۟waātawūand giveٱلزَّكَوٰةَl-zakatathe zakahفَإِخْوَٰنُكُمْfa-ikh'wānukumthen (they are) your brothersفِىfīinٱلدِّينِ ۗl-dīni[the] religionوَنُفَصِّلُwanufaṣṣiluAnd We explain in detailٱلْـَٔايَـٰتِl-āyātithe Versesلِقَوْمٍۢliqawminfor a peopleيَعْلَمُونَyaʿlamūna(who) know
9:11
وَإِنwa-inAnd ifنَّكَثُوٓا۟nakathūthey breakأَيْمَـٰنَهُمaymānahumtheir oathsمِّنۢminafterبَعْدِbaʿdiafterعَهْدِهِمْʿahdihimtheir treatyوَطَعَنُوا۟waṭaʿanūand defameفِىfī[in]دِينِكُمْdīnikumyour religionفَقَـٰتِلُوٓا۟faqātilūthen fightأَئِمَّةَa-immatathe leadersٱلْكُفْرِ ۙl-kuf'ri(of) [the] disbeliefإِنَّهُمْinnahumindeed, they لَآlānoأَيْمَـٰنَaymānaoathsلَهُمْlahumfor themلَعَلَّهُمْlaʿallahumso that they mayيَنتَهُونَyantahūnacease
9:12
أَلَاalāWill notتُقَـٰتِلُونَtuqātilūnayou fightقَوْمًۭاqawmana peopleنَّكَثُوٓا۟nakathūwho brokeأَيْمَـٰنَهُمْaymānahumtheir oathsوَهَمُّوا۟wahammūand determinedبِإِخْرَاجِbi-ikh'rājito drive outٱلرَّسُولِl-rasūlithe Messengerوَهُمwahumand theyبَدَءُوكُمْbadaūkumbegan (to attack) youأَوَّلَawwalafirstمَرَّةٍ ۚmarratintimeأَتَخْشَوْنَهُمْ ۚatakhshawnahumDo you fear themفَٱللَّهُfal-lahuBut Allahأَحَقُّaḥaqqu(has) more rightأَنanthatتَخْشَوْهُtakhshawhuyou should fear Himإِنinifكُنتُمkuntumyou areمُّؤْمِنِينَmu'minīnabelievers
9:13
