ذَٲلِكَ بِأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَمْ يَكُ مُغَيِّرًا نِّعْمَةً أَنْعَمَهَا عَلَىٰ قَوْمٍ حَتَّىٰ يُغَيِّرُواْ مَا بِأَنفُسِهِمْۙ وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ 53
كَدَأْبِ ءَالِ فِرْعَوْنَۙ وَٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْۚ كَذَّبُواْ بِـَٔـايَـٰتِ رَبِّهِمْ فَأَهْلَكْنَـٰهُم بِذُنُوبِهِمْ وَأَغْرَقْنَآ ءَالَ فِرْعَوْنَۚ وَكُلٌّ كَانُواْ ظَـٰلِمِينَ 54
إِنَّ شَرَّ ٱلدَّوَآبِّ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ فَهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ 55
ٱلَّذِينَ عَـٰهَدتَّ مِنْهُمْ ثُمَّ يَنقُضُونَ عَهْدَهُمْ فِى كُلِّ مَرَّةٍ وَهُمْ لَا يَتَّقُونَ 56
فَإِمَّا تَثْقَفَنَّهُمْ فِى ٱلْحَرْبِ فَشَرِّدْ بِهِم مَّنْ خَلْفَهُمْ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَذَّكَّرُونَ 57
وَإِمَّا تَخَافَنَّ مِن قَوْمٍ خِيَانَةً فَٱنۢبِذْ إِلَيْهِمْ عَلَىٰ سَوَآءٍۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُحِبُّ ٱلْخَآئِنِينَ 58
وَلَا يَحْسَبَنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ سَبَقُوٓاْۚ إِنَّهُمْ لَا يُعْجِزُونَ 59
وَأَعِدُّواْ لَهُم مَّا ٱسْتَطَعْتُم مِّن قُوَّةٍ وَمِن رِّبَاطِ ٱلْخَيْلِ تُرْهِبُونَ بِهِۦ عَدُوَّ ٱللَّهِ وَعَدُوَّكُمْ وَءَاخَرِينَ مِن دُونِهِمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ يَعْلَمُهُمْۚ وَمَا تُنفِقُواْ مِن شَىْءٍ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ يُوَفَّ إِلَيْكُمْ وَأَنتُمْ لَا تُظْلَمُونَ 60
۞ وَإِن جَنَحُواْ لِلسَّلْمِ فَٱجْنَحْ لَهَا وَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى ٱللَّهِۚ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ 61
ذَٰلِكَdhālikaThatبِأَنَّbi-anna(is) becauseٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahلَمْlamnotيَكُyakuisمُغَيِّرًۭاmughayyiranOne Who changesنِّعْمَةًniʿ'matana favorأَنْعَمَهَاanʿamahāwhich He had bestowedعَلَىٰʿalāonقَوْمٍqawmina peopleحَتَّىٰḥattāuntilيُغَيِّرُوا۟yughayyirūthey changeمَاmāwhatبِأَنفُسِهِمْ ۙbi-anfusihim(is) in themselvesوَأَنَّwa-annaAnd indeedٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahسَمِيعٌsamīʿun(is) All-HearingعَلِيمٌۭʿalīmunAll-Knowing
8:53
كَدَأْبِkadabiLike (the) wayءَالِāli(of) peopleفِرْعَوْنَ ۙfir'ʿawna(of) Firaunوَٱلَّذِينَwa-alladhīnaand those whoمِنmin(were) fromقَبْلِهِمْ ۚqablihimbefore themكَذَّبُوا۟kadhabūThey deniedبِـَٔايَـٰتِbiāyāti(the) Signsرَبِّهِمْrabbihim(of) their Lordفَأَهْلَكْنَـٰهُمfa-ahlaknāhumso We destroyed themبِذُنُوبِهِمْbidhunūbihimfor their sinsوَأَغْرَقْنَآwa-aghraqnāand We drownedءَالَāla(the) peopleفِرْعَوْنَ ۚfir'ʿawna(of) Firaunوَكُلٌّۭwakullunand (they) allكَانُوا۟kānūwereظَـٰلِمِينَẓālimīnawrongdoers
8:54
إِنَّinnaIndeedشَرَّsharra(the) worstٱلدَّوَآبِّl-dawābi(of) the living creaturesعِندَʿindanearٱللَّهِl-lahiAllahٱلَّذِينَalladhīna(are) those whoكَفَرُوا۟kafarūdisbelieveفَهُمْfahumand theyلَاlā(will) notيُؤْمِنُونَyu'minūnabelieve
8:55
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnaThose who عَـٰهَدتَّʿāhadttayou made a covenantمِنْهُمْmin'humwith themثُمَّthummathenيَنقُضُونَyanquḍūnathey breakعَهْدَهُمْʿahdahumtheir covenantفِىfī[in]كُلِّkullieveryمَرَّةٍۢmarratintimeوَهُمْwahumand theyلَاlā(do) notيَتَّقُونَyattaqūnafear (Allah)
8:56
فَإِمَّاfa-immāSo ifتَثْقَفَنَّهُمْtathqafannahumyou gain dominance over themفِىfīinٱلْحَرْبِl-ḥarbithe warفَشَرِّدْfasharriddisperseبِهِمbihimby themمَّنْman(those) whoخَلْفَهُمْkhalfahum(are) behind themلَعَلَّهُمْlaʿallahumso that they mayيَذَّكَّرُونَyadhakkarūnatake heed
8:57
وَإِمَّاwa-immāAnd ifتَخَافَنَّtakhāfannayou fearمِنminfromقَوْمٍqawmina peopleخِيَانَةًۭkhiyānatanbetrayalفَٱنۢبِذْfa-inbidhthrow backإِلَيْهِمْilayhimto themعَلَىٰʿalāonسَوَآءٍ ۚsawāinequal (terms)إِنَّinnaIndeedٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahلَاlā(does) notيُحِبُّyuḥibbuloveٱلْخَآئِنِينَl-khāinīnathe traitors
8:58
وَلَاwalāAnd (let) notيَحْسَبَنَّyaḥsabannathinkٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoكَفَرُوا۟kafarūdisbelieveسَبَقُوٓا۟ ۚsabaqūthey can outstripإِنَّهُمْinnahumIndeed, theyلَاlā(can) notيُعْجِزُونَyuʿ'jizūnaescape
8:59
وَأَعِدُّوا۟wa-aʿiddūAnd prepareلَهُمlahumfor themمَّاmāwhateverٱسْتَطَعْتُمis'taṭaʿtumyou able (to)مِّنminofقُوَّةٍۢquwwatinforceوَمِنwaminand ofرِّبَاطِribāṭitetheredٱلْخَيْلِl-khaylihorsesتُرْهِبُونَtur'hibūna(to) terrifyبِهِۦbihitherewithعَدُوَّʿaduwwa(the) enemyٱللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allahوَعَدُوَّكُمْwaʿaduwwakumand your enemyوَءَاخَرِينَwaākharīnaand othersمِنminfromدُونِهِمْdūnihimbesides themلَاlānotتَعْلَمُونَهُمُtaʿlamūnahumu(do) you know themٱللَّهُl-lahu(but) Allahيَعْلَمُهُمْ ۚyaʿlamuhumknows themوَمَاwamāAnd whateverتُنفِقُوا۟tunfiqūyou spendمِنminfromشَىْءٍۢshayin(any) thingفِىfīinسَبِيلِsabīli(the) wayٱللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allahيُوَفَّyuwaffait will be fully repaidإِلَيْكُمْilaykumto youوَأَنتُمْwa-antumand youلَاlā(will) notتُظْلَمُونَtuẓ'lamūnabe wronged
8:60
۞ وَإِنwa-inAnd ifجَنَحُوا۟janaḥūthey inclineلِلسَّلْمِlilssalmito peaceفَٱجْنَحْfa-ij'naḥthen you (also) inclineلَهَاlahāto itوَتَوَكَّلْwatawakkaland put (your) trustعَلَىʿalāinٱللَّهِ ۚl-lahiAllahإِنَّهُۥinnahuIndeedهُوَhuwaHeٱلسَّمِيعُl-samīʿu(is) All-Hearerٱلْعَلِيمُl-ʿalīmuAll-Knower
8:61
