وَلَوْ أَنَّ أَهْلَ ٱلْقُرَىٰٓ ءَامَنُواْ وَٱتَّقَوْاْ لَفَتَحْنَا عَلَيْهِم بَرَكَـٰتٍ مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَـٰكِن كَذَّبُواْ فَأَخَذْنَـٰهُم بِمَا كَانُواْ يَكْسِبُونَ 96
أَفَأَمِنَ أَهْلُ ٱلْقُرَىٰٓ أَن يَأْتِيَهُم بَأْسُنَا بَيَـٰتًا وَهُمْ نَآئِمُونَ 97
أَوَأَمِنَ أَهْلُ ٱلْقُرَىٰٓ أَن يَأْتِيَهُم بَأْسُنَا ضُحًى وَهُمْ يَلْعَبُونَ 98
أَفَأَمِنُواْ مَكْرَ ٱللَّهِۚ فَلَا يَأْمَنُ مَكْرَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَّا ٱلْقَوْمُ ٱلْخَـٰسِرُونَ 99
أَوَلَمْ يَهْدِ لِلَّذِينَ يَرِثُونَ ٱلْأَرْضَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ أَهْلِهَآ أَن لَّوْ نَشَآءُ أَصَبْنَـٰهُم بِذُنُوبِهِمْۚ وَنَطْبَعُ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمْ فَهُمْ لَا يَسْمَعُونَ 100
تِلْكَ ٱلْقُرَىٰ نَقُصُّ عَلَيْكَ مِنْ أَنۢبَآئِهَاۚ وَلَقَدْ جَآءَتْهُمْ رُسُلُهُم بِٱلْبَيِّنَـٰتِ فَمَا كَانُواْ لِيُؤْمِنُواْ بِمَا كَذَّبُواْ مِن قَبْلُۚ كَذَٲلِكَ يَطْبَعُ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِ ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ 101
وَمَا وَجَدْنَا لِأَكْثَرِهِم مِّنْ عَهْدٍۖ وَإِن وَجَدْنَآ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَفَـٰسِقِينَ 102
ثُمَّ بَعَثْنَا مِنۢ بَعْدِهِم مُّوسَىٰ بِـَٔـايَـٰتِنَآ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ وَمَلَإِيْهِۦ فَظَلَمُواْ بِهَاۖ فَٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَـٰقِبَةُ ٱلْمُفْسِدِينَ 103
وَقَالَ مُوسَىٰ يَـٰفِرْعَوْنُ إِنِّى رَسُولٌ مِّن رَّبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ 104
وَلَوْwalawAnd ifأَنَّanna[that]أَهْلَahlapeopleٱلْقُرَىٰٓl-qurā(of) the citiesءَامَنُوا۟āmanū(had) believedوَٱتَّقَوْا۟wa-ittaqawand feared Allahلَفَتَحْنَاlafataḥnāsurely We (would have) openedعَلَيْهِمʿalayhimupon themبَرَكَـٰتٍۢbarakātinblessingsمِّنَminafromٱلسَّمَآءِl-samāithe heavenوَٱلْأَرْضِwal-arḍiand the earthوَلَـٰكِنwalākinbutكَذَّبُوا۟kadhabūthey deniedفَأَخَذْنَـٰهُمfa-akhadhnāhumSo We seized themبِمَاbimāfor whatكَانُوا۟kānūthey used toيَكْسِبُونَyaksibūnaearn
7:96
أَفَأَمِنَafa-aminaThen did feel secureأَهْلُahlu(the) peopleٱلْقُرَىٰٓl-qurā(of) the citiesأَنanthatيَأْتِيَهُمyatiyahumcomes to themبَأْسُنَاbasunāOur punishmentبَيَـٰتًۭاbayātan(at) nightوَهُمْwahumwhile theyنَآئِمُونَnāimūna(were) asleep
7:97
أَوَأَمِنَawa-aminaOr felt secureأَهْلُahlu(the) peopleٱلْقُرَىٰٓl-qurā(of) the citiesأَنanthatيَأْتِيَهُمyatiyahumcomes to themبَأْسُنَاbasunāOur punishmentضُحًۭىḍuḥan(in) daylightوَهُمْwahumwhile theyيَلْعَبُونَyalʿabūna(were) playing
7:98
أَفَأَمِنُوا۟afa-aminūThen did they feel secureمَكْرَmakra(from the) planٱللَّهِ ۚl-lahi(of) AllahفَلَاfalāBut notيَأْمَنُyamanufeel secureمَكْرَmakra(from the) planٱللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allahإِلَّاillāexceptٱلْقَوْمُl-qawmuthe peopleٱلْخَـٰسِرُونَl-khāsirūna(who are) the losers
7:99
أَوَلَمْawalamWould it notيَهْدِyahdiguideلِلَّذِينَlilladhīna[for] those whoيَرِثُونَyarithūnainheritٱلْأَرْضَl-arḍathe landمِنۢminfromبَعْدِbaʿdiafterأَهْلِهَآahlihāits peopleأَنanthatلَّوْlawifنَشَآءُnashāuWe willedأَصَبْنَـٰهُمaṣabnāhumWe (could) afflict themبِذُنُوبِهِمْ ۚbidhunūbihimfor their sinsوَنَطْبَعُwanaṭbaʿuand We put a sealعَلَىٰʿalāoverقُلُوبِهِمْqulūbihimtheir heartsفَهُمْfahumso theyلَاlā(do) notيَسْمَعُونَyasmaʿūnahear
7:100
تِلْكَtil'kaTheseٱلْقُرَىٰl-qurā(were) the cities نَقُصُّnaquṣṣuWe relateعَلَيْكَʿalaykato youمِنْminofأَنۢبَآئِهَا ۚanbāihātheir newsوَلَقَدْwalaqadAnd certainlyجَآءَتْهُمْjāathumcame to themرُسُلُهُمrusuluhumtheir Messengersبِٱلْبَيِّنَـٰتِbil-bayinātiwith clear proofsفَمَاfamābut notكَانُوا۟kānūthey wereلِيُؤْمِنُوا۟liyu'minūto believeبِمَاbimāin whatكَذَّبُوا۟kadhabūthey (had) deniedمِنminfromقَبْلُ ۚqablubeforeكَذَٰلِكَkadhālikaThusيَطْبَعُyaṭbaʿu(has been) put a sealٱللَّهُl-lahu(by) Allahعَلَىٰʿalāonقُلُوبِqulūbi(the) heartsٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَl-kāfirīna(of) the disbelievers
7:101
وَمَاwamāAnd notوَجَدْنَاwajadnāWe foundلِأَكْثَرِهِمli-aktharihimfor most of themمِّنْminanyعَهْدٍۢ ۖʿahdincovenantوَإِنwa-inButوَجَدْنَآwajadnāWe foundأَكْثَرَهُمْaktharahummost of themلَفَـٰسِقِينَlafāsiqīnacertainly, defiantly disobedient
7:102
ثُمَّthummaThenبَعَثْنَاbaʿathnāWe sentمِنۢminfromبَعْدِهِمbaʿdihimafter themمُّوسَىٰmūsāMusaبِـَٔايَـٰتِنَآbiāyātināwith Our Signsإِلَىٰilātoفِرْعَوْنَfir'ʿawnaFiraunوَمَلَإِي۟هِۦwamala-ihiand his chiefsفَظَلَمُوا۟faẓalamūBut they were unjustبِهَا ۖbihāto themفَٱنظُرْfa-unẓurSo seeكَيْفَkayfahowكَانَkānawasعَـٰقِبَةُʿāqibatu(the) endٱلْمُفْسِدِينَl-muf'sidīna(of) the corrupters
7:103
وَقَالَwaqālaAnd saidمُوسَىٰmūsāMusaيَـٰفِرْعَوْنُyāfir'ʿawnuO FiraunإِنِّىinnīIndeed, I amرَسُولٌۭrasūluna Messengerمِّنminfromرَّبِّrabbi(the) Lordٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَl-ʿālamīna(of) the worlds
7:104
