وَقَفَّيْنَا عَلَىٰٓ ءَاثَـٰرِهِم بِعِيسَى ٱبْنِ مَرْيَمَ مُصَدِّقًا لِّمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ مِنَ ٱلتَّوْرَٮٰةِۖ وَءَاتَيْنَـٰهُ ٱلْإِنجِيلَ فِيهِ هُدًى وَنُورٌ وَمُصَدِّقًا لِّمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ مِنَ ٱلتَّوْرَٮٰةِ وَهُدًى وَمَوْعِظَةً لِّلْمُتَّقِينَ 46
وَلْيَحْكُمْ أَهْلُ ٱلْإِنجِيلِ بِمَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ فِيهِۚ وَمَن لَّمْ يَحْكُم بِمَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ فَأُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْفَـٰسِقُونَ 47
وَأَنزَلْنَآ إِلَيْكَ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ بِٱلْحَقِّ مُصَدِّقًا لِّمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ مِنَ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ وَمُهَيْمِنًا عَلَيْهِۖ فَٱحْكُم بَيْنَهُم بِمَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُۖ وَلَا تَتَّبِعْ أَهْوَآءَهُمْ عَمَّا جَآءَكَ مِنَ ٱلْحَقِّۚ لِكُلٍّ جَعَلْنَا مِنكُمْ شِرْعَةً وَمِنْهَاجًاۚ وَلَوْ شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ لَجَعَلَكُمْ أُمَّةً وَٲحِدَةً وَلَـٰكِن لِّيَبْلُوَكُمْ فِى مَآ ءَاتَـٰكُمْۖ فَٱسْتَبِقُواْ ٱلْخَيْرَٲتِۚ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ مَرْجِعُكُمْ جَمِيعًا فَيُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا كُنتُمْ فِيهِ تَخْتَلِفُونَ 48
وَأَنِ ٱحْكُم بَيْنَهُم بِمَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ وَلَا تَتَّبِعْ أَهْوَآءَهُمْ وَٱحْذَرْهُمْ أَن يَفْتِنُوكَ عَنۢ بَعْضِ مَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ إِلَيْكَۖ فَإِن تَوَلَّوْاْ فَٱعْلَمْ أَنَّمَا يُرِيدُ ٱللَّهُ أَن يُصِيبَهُم بِبَعْضِ ذُنُوبِهِمْۗ وَإِنَّ كَثِيرًا مِّنَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَفَـٰسِقُونَ 49
أَفَحُكْمَ ٱلْجَـٰهِلِيَّةِ يَبْغُونَۚ وَمَنْ أَحْسَنُ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ حُكْمًا لِّقَوْمٍ يُوقِنُونَ 50
وَقَفَّيْنَاwaqaffaynāAnd We sentعَلَىٰٓʿalāonءَاثَـٰرِهِمāthārihimtheir footstepsبِعِيسَىbiʿīsāIsaٱبْنِib'nisonمَرْيَمَmaryama(of) Maryamمُصَدِّقًۭاmuṣaddiqanconfirmingلِّمَاlimāwhatبَيْنَbayna(was) betweenيَدَيْهِyadayhihis handsمِنَminaofٱلتَّوْرَىٰةِ ۖl-tawrātithe Tauratوَءَاتَيْنَـٰهُwaātaynāhuand We gave himٱلْإِنجِيلَl-injīlathe Injeelفِيهِfīhiin itهُدًۭىhudan(was) Guidanceوَنُورٌۭwanūrunand lightوَمُصَدِّقًۭاwamuṣaddiqanand confirmingلِّمَاlimāwhatبَيْنَbayna(was) betweenيَدَيْهِyadayhihis handsمِنَminaofٱلتَّوْرَىٰةِl-tawrātithe Tauratوَهُدًۭىwahudanand a Guidanceوَمَوْعِظَةًۭwamawʿiẓatanand an admonitionلِّلْمُتَّقِينَlil'muttaqīnafor the God conscious
5:46
وَلْيَحْكُمْwalyaḥkumAnd let judgeأَهْلُahlu(the) Peopleٱلْإِنجِيلِl-injīli(of) the Injeelبِمَآbimāby whatأَنزَلَanzalahas revealedٱللَّهُl-lahuAllahفِيهِ ۚfīhiin itوَمَنwamanAnd whoeverلَّمْlam(does) notيَحْكُمyaḥkumjudgeبِمَآbimāby whatأَنزَلَanzalahas revealedٱللَّهُl-lahuAllahفَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَfa-ulāikathen thoseهُمُhumu[they] (are)ٱلْفَـٰسِقُونَl-fāsiqūnathe defiantly disobedient
5:47
وَأَنزَلْنَآwa-anzalnāAnd We revealedإِلَيْكَilaykato youٱلْكِتَـٰبَl-kitābathe Bookبِٱلْحَقِّbil-ḥaqiin [the] truthمُصَدِّقًۭاmuṣaddiqanconfirmingلِّمَاlimāwhatبَيْنَbayna(was) beforeيَدَيْهِyadayhihis handsمِنَminaofٱلْكِتَـٰبِl-kitābithe Bookوَمُهَيْمِنًاwamuhayminanand a guardianعَلَيْهِ ۖʿalayhiover itفَٱحْكُمfa-uḥ'kumSo judgeبَيْنَهُمbaynahumbetween themبِمَآbimāby whatأَنزَلَanzalahas revealedٱللَّهُ ۖl-lahuAllahوَلَاwalāand (do) notتَتَّبِعْtattabiʿfollowأَهْوَآءَهُمْahwāahumtheir vain desiresعَمَّاʿammāwhenجَآءَكَjāakahas come to youمِنَminaofٱلْحَقِّ ۚl-ḥaqithe truthلِكُلٍّۢlikullinFor eachجَعَلْنَاjaʿalnāWe have madeمِنكُمْminkumfor youشِرْعَةًۭshir'ʿatana lawوَمِنْهَاجًۭا ۚwamin'hājanand a clear wayوَلَوْwalawAnd ifشَآءَshāa(had) willedٱللَّهُl-lahuAllahلَجَعَلَكُمْlajaʿalakumHe (would have) made youأُمَّةًۭummatana communityوَٰحِدَةًۭwāḥidatanoneوَلَـٰكِنwalākin[and] butلِّيَبْلُوَكُمْliyabluwakumto test youفِىfīinمَآmāwhatءَاتَىٰكُمْ ۖātākumHe (has) given youفَٱسْتَبِقُوا۟fa-is'tabiqūso raceٱلْخَيْرَٰتِ ۚl-khayrāti(to) the goodإِلَىilāToٱللَّهِl-lahiAllahمَرْجِعُكُمْmarjiʿukumyou will returnجَمِيعًۭاjamīʿanallفَيُنَبِّئُكُمfayunabbi-ukumthen He will inform youبِمَاbimāof whatكُنتُمْkuntumyou wereفِيهِfīhiconcerning itتَخْتَلِفُونَtakhtalifūnadiffering
5:48
وَأَنِwa-aniAnd thatٱحْكُمuḥ'kumyou judgeبَيْنَهُمbaynahumbetween themبِمَآbimāby whatأَنزَلَanzala(has) revealedٱللَّهُl-lahuAllahوَلَاwalāand (do) notتَتَّبِعْtattabiʿfollowأَهْوَآءَهُمْahwāahumtheir vain desiresوَٱحْذَرْهُمْwa-iḥ'dharhumand beware of themأَنanlestيَفْتِنُوكَyaftinūkathey tempt you awayعَنۢʿanfromبَعْضِbaʿḍisomeمَآmā(of) whatأَنزَلَanzalahas revealedٱللَّهُl-lahuAllahإِلَيْكَ ۖilaykato youفَإِنfa-inAnd ifتَوَلَّوْا۟tawallawthey turn awayفَٱعْلَمْfa-iʿ'lamthen know thatأَنَّمَاannamāonlyيُرِيدُyurīduintendsٱللَّهُl-lahuAllahأَنantoيُصِيبَهُمyuṣībahumafflict themبِبَعْضِbibaʿḍifor someذُنُوبِهِمْ ۗdhunūbihim(of) their sinsوَإِنَّwa-innaAnd indeedكَثِيرًۭاkathīranmanyمِّنَminaofٱلنَّاسِl-nāsithe peopleلَفَـٰسِقُونَlafāsiqūna(are) defiantly disobedient
5:49
أَفَحُكْمَafaḥuk'maIs it then the judgmentٱلْجَـٰهِلِيَّةِl-jāhiliyati(of the time of) ignoranceيَبْغُونَ ۚyabghūnathey seekوَمَنْwamanAnd who (is)أَحْسَنُaḥsanubetterمِنَminathanٱللَّهِl-lahiAllahحُكْمًۭاḥuk'man(in) judgmentلِّقَوْمٍۢliqawminfor a peopleيُوقِنُونَyūqinūna(who) firmly believe
5:50
