فَبِمَا نَقْضِهِم مِّيثَـٰقَهُمْ وَكُفْرِهِم بِـَٔـايَـٰتِ ٱللَّهِ وَقَتْلِهِمُ ٱلْأَنۢبِيَآءَ بِغَيْرِ حَقٍّ وَقَوْلِهِمْ قُلُوبُنَا غُلْفُۢۚ بَلْ طَبَعَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْهَا بِكُفْرِهِمْ فَلَا يُؤْمِنُونَ إِلَّا قَلِيلاً 155
وَبِكُفْرِهِمْ وَقَوْلِهِمْ عَلَىٰ مَرْيَمَ بُهْتَـٰنًا عَظِيمًا 156
وَقَوْلِهِمْ إِنَّا قَتَلْنَا ٱلْمَسِيحَ عِيسَى ٱبْنَ مَرْيَمَ رَسُولَ ٱللَّهِ وَمَا قَتَلُوهُ وَمَا صَلَبُوهُ وَلَـٰكِن شُبِّهَ لَهُمْۚ وَإِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱخْتَلَفُواْ فِيهِ لَفِى شَكٍّ مِّنْهُۚ مَا لَهُم بِهِۦ مِنْ عِلْمٍ إِلَّا ٱتِّبَاعَ ٱلظَّنِّۚ وَمَا قَتَلُوهُ يَقِينَۢا 157
بَل رَّفَعَهُ ٱللَّهُ إِلَيْهِۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ عَزِيزًا حَكِيمًا 158
وَإِن مِّنْ أَهْلِ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ إِلَّا لَيُؤْمِنَنَّ بِهِۦ قَبْلَ مَوْتِهِۦۖ وَيَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ يَكُونُ عَلَيْهِمْ شَهِيدًا 159
فَبِظُلْمٍ مِّنَ ٱلَّذِينَ هَادُواْ حَرَّمْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ طَيِّبَـٰتٍ أُحِلَّتْ لَهُمْ وَبِصَدِّهِمْ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ كَثِيرًا 160
وَأَخْذِهِمُ ٱلرِّبَوٲاْ وَقَدْ نُهُواْ عَنْهُ وَأَكْلِهِمْ أَمْوَٲلَ ٱلنَّاسِ بِٱلْبَـٰطِلِۚ وَأَعْتَدْنَا لِلْكَـٰفِرِينَ مِنْهُمْ عَذَابًا أَلِيمًا 161
لَّـٰكِنِ ٱلرَّٲسِخُونَ فِى ٱلْعِلْمِ مِنْهُمْ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِمَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَيْكَ وَمَآ أُنزِلَ مِن قَبْلِكَۚ وَٱلْمُقِيمِينَ ٱلصَّلَوٲةَۚ وَٱلْمُؤْتُونَ ٱلزَّكَوٲةَ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱللَّهِ وَٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْأَخِرِ أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ سَنُؤْتِيهِمْ أَجْرًا عَظِيمًا 162
فَبِمَاfabimāThen because ofنَقْضِهِمnaqḍihimtheir breakingمِّيثَـٰقَهُمْmīthāqahum(of) their covenantوَكُفْرِهِمwakuf'rihimand their disbeliefبِـَٔايَـٰتِbiāyātiin (the) Signsٱللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allahوَقَتْلِهِمُwaqatlihimuand their killingٱلْأَنۢبِيَآءَl-anbiyāa(of) the Prophetsبِغَيْرِbighayriwithoutحَقٍّۢḥaqqinany rightوَقَوْلِهِمْwaqawlihimand their sayingقُلُوبُنَاqulūbunāOur heartsغُلْفٌۢ ۚghul'fun(are) wrappedبَلْbalNayطَبَعَṭabaʿa(has) set a sealٱللَّهُl-lahuAllahعَلَيْهَاʿalayhāon their (hearts)بِكُفْرِهِمْbikuf'rihimfor their disbeliefفَلَاfalāso notيُؤْمِنُونَyu'minūnathey believeإِلَّاillāexceptقَلِيلًۭاqalīlana few
4:155
وَبِكُفْرِهِمْwabikuf'rihimAnd for their disbeliefوَقَوْلِهِمْwaqawlihimand their sayingعَلَىٰʿalāagainstمَرْيَمَmaryamaMaryamبُهْتَـٰنًاbuh'tānana slanderعَظِيمًۭاʿaẓīmangreat
4:156
وَقَوْلِهِمْwaqawlihimAnd for their sayingإِنَّاinnāIndeed, weقَتَلْنَاqatalnākilledٱلْمَسِيحَl-masīḥathe MessiahعِيسَىʿīsāIsaٱبْنَib'nasonمَرْيَمَmaryama(of) Maryamرَسُولَrasūla(the) Messengerٱللَّهِl-lahi(of) AllahوَمَاwamāAnd notقَتَلُوهُqatalūhuthey killed himوَمَاwamāand notصَلَبُوهُṣalabūhuthey crucified himوَلَـٰكِنwalākinbutشُبِّهَshubbihait was made to appear (so)لَهُمْ ۚlahumto themوَإِنَّwa-innaAnd indeedٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoٱخْتَلَفُوا۟ikh'talafūdifferفِيهِfīhiin itلَفِىlafī(are) surely inشَكٍّۢshakkindoubtمِّنْهُ ۚmin'huabout itمَاmāNotلَهُمlahumfor themبِهِۦbihiabout itمِنْmin[of]عِلْمٍʿil'min(any) knowledgeإِلَّاillāexceptٱتِّبَاعَittibāʿa(the) followingٱلظَّنِّ ۚl-ẓani(of) assumptionوَمَاwamāAnd notقَتَلُوهُqatalūhuthey killed himيَقِينًۢاyaqīnancertainly
4:157
بَلbalNayرَّفَعَهُrafaʿahuhe was raisedٱللَّهُl-lahu(by) Allahإِلَيْهِ ۚilayhitowards HimوَكَانَwakānaAnd isٱللَّهُl-lahuAllahعَزِيزًاʿazīzanAll-MightyحَكِيمًۭاḥakīmanAll-Wise
4:158
وَإِنwa-inAnd (there is) notمِّنْminfromأَهْلِahli(the) Peopleٱلْكِتَـٰبِl-kitābi(of) the Bookإِلَّاillābutلَيُؤْمِنَنَّlayu'minannasurely he believesبِهِۦbihiin himقَبْلَqablabeforeمَوْتِهِۦ ۖmawtihihis deathوَيَوْمَwayawmaAnd (on the) Dayٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِl-qiyāmati(of) the Resurrectionيَكُونُyakūnuhe will beعَلَيْهِمْʿalayhimagainst themشَهِيدًۭاshahīdana witness
4:159
فَبِظُلْمٍۢfabiẓul'minThen for (the) wrongdoingمِّنَminaofٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoهَادُوا۟hādūwere JewsحَرَّمْنَاḥarramnāWe made unlawfulعَلَيْهِمْʿalayhimfor themطَيِّبَـٰتٍṭayyibātingood thingsأُحِلَّتْuḥillatwhich had been lawfulلَهُمْlahumfor themوَبِصَدِّهِمْwabiṣaddihimand for their hinderingعَنʿanfromسَبِيلِsabīli(the) wayٱللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allah كَثِيرًۭاkathīranmany
4:160
وَأَخْذِهِمُwa-akhdhihimuAnd for their takingٱلرِّبَوٰا۟l-riba(of) [the] usuryوَقَدْwaqadwhile certainlyنُهُوا۟nuhūthey were forbiddenعَنْهُʿanhufrom itوَأَكْلِهِمْwa-aklihimand (for) their consumingأَمْوَٰلَamwālawealthٱلنَّاسِl-nāsi(of) the peopleبِٱلْبَـٰطِلِ ۚbil-bāṭiliwrongfullyوَأَعْتَدْنَاwa-aʿtadnāAnd We have preparedلِلْكَـٰفِرِينَlil'kāfirīnafor the disbelieversمِنْهُمْmin'humamong themعَذَابًاʿadhābana punishmentأَلِيمًۭاalīmanpainful
4:161
لَّـٰكِنِlākiniButٱلرَّٰسِخُونَl-rāsikhūnathe ones who are firmفِىfīinٱلْعِلْمِl-ʿil'mithe knowledgeمِنْهُمْmin'humamong themوَٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَwal-mu'minūnaand the believersيُؤْمِنُونَyu'minūnabelieveبِمَآbimāin whatأُنزِلَunzila(is) revealedإِلَيْكَilaykato youوَمَآwamāand whatأُنزِلَunzilawas revealedمِنminfromقَبْلِكَ ۚqablikabefore youوَٱلْمُقِيمِينَwal-muqīmīnaAnd the ones who establishٱلصَّلَوٰةَ ۚl-ṣalatathe prayerوَٱلْمُؤْتُونَwal-mu'tūnaand the ones who giveٱلزَّكَوٰةَl-zakatathe zakahوَٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَwal-mu'minūnaand the ones who believeبِٱللَّهِbil-lahiin Allahوَٱلْيَوْمِwal-yawmiand the Dayٱلْـَٔاخِرِl-ākhirithe Last أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَulāikathoseسَنُؤْتِيهِمْsanu'tīhimWe will give themأَجْرًاajrana rewardعَظِيمًاʿaẓīmangreat
4:162
