وَٱلَّـٰتِى يَأْتِينَ ٱلْفَـٰحِشَةَ مِن نِّسَآئِكُمْ فَٱسْتَشْهِدُواْ عَلَيْهِنَّ أَرْبَعَةً مِّنكُمْۖ فَإِن شَهِدُواْ فَأَمْسِكُوهُنَّ فِى ٱلْبُيُوتِ حَتَّىٰ يَتَوَفَّـٰهُنَّ ٱلْمَوْتُ أَوْ يَجْعَلَ ٱللَّهُ لَهُنَّ سَبِيلاً 15
وَٱلَّذَانِ يَأْتِيَـٰنِهَا مِنكُمْ فَـَٔـاذُوهُمَاۖ فَإِن تَابَا وَأَصْلَحَا فَأَعْرِضُواْ عَنْهُمَآۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ تَوَّابًا رَّحِيمًا 16
إِنَّمَا ٱلتَّوْبَةُ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ لِلَّذِينَ يَعْمَلُونَ ٱلسُّوٓءَ بِجَهَـٰلَةٍ ثُمَّ يَتُوبُونَ مِن قَرِيبٍ فَأُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ يَتُوبُ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْهِمْۗ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ عَلِيمًا حَكِيمًا 17
وَلَيْسَتِ ٱلتَّوْبَةُ لِلَّذِينَ يَعْمَلُونَ ٱلسَّيِّـَٔـاتِ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا حَضَرَ أَحَدَهُمُ ٱلْمَوْتُ قَالَ إِنِّى تُبْتُ ٱلْـَٔـٰنَ وَلَا ٱلَّذِينَ يَمُوتُونَ وَهُمْ كُفَّارٌۚ أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ أَعْتَدْنَا لَهُمْ عَذَابًا أَلِيمًا 18
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ لَا يَحِلُّ لَكُمْ أَن تَرِثُواْ ٱلنِّسَآءَ كَرْهًاۖ وَلَا تَعْضُلُوهُنَّ لِتَذْهَبُواْ بِبَعْضِ مَآ ءَاتَيْتُمُوهُنَّ إِلَّآ أَن يَأْتِينَ بِفَـٰحِشَةٍ مُّبَيِّنَةٍۚ وَعَاشِرُوهُنَّ بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِۚ فَإِن كَرِهْتُمُوهُنَّ فَعَسَىٰٓ أَن تَكْرَهُواْ شَيْــًٔا وَيَجْعَلَ ٱللَّهُ فِيهِ خَيْرًا كَثِيرًا 19
وَٱلَّـٰتِىwa-allātīAnd those whoيَأْتِينَyatīnacommitٱلْفَـٰحِشَةَl-fāḥishata[the] immoralityمِنminfromنِّسَآئِكُمْnisāikumyour womenفَٱسْتَشْهِدُوا۟fa-is'tashhidūthen call to witnessعَلَيْهِنَّʿalayhinnaagainst themأَرْبَعَةًۭarbaʿatanfourمِّنكُمْ ۖminkumamong youفَإِنfa-inAnd ifشَهِدُوا۟shahidūthey testifyفَأَمْسِكُوهُنَّfa-amsikūhunnathen confine themفِىfīinٱلْبُيُوتِl-buyūtitheir housesحَتَّىٰḥattāuntilيَتَوَفَّىٰهُنَّyatawaffāhunnacomes to themٱلْمَوْتُl-mawtu[the] deathأَوْaworيَجْعَلَyajʿalamakesٱللَّهُl-lahuAllahلَهُنَّlahunnafor themسَبِيلًۭاsabīlana way
4:15
وَٱلَّذَانِwa-alladhāniAnd the two whoيَأْتِيَـٰنِهَاyatiyānihācommit itمِنكُمْminkumamong youفَـَٔاذُوهُمَا ۖfaādhūhumāthen punish both of themفَإِنfa-inBut ifتَابَاtābāthey repentوَأَصْلَحَاwa-aṣlaḥāand correct themselvesفَأَعْرِضُوا۟fa-aʿriḍūthen turn awayعَنْهُمَآ ۗʿanhumāfrom both of themإِنَّinnaIndeedٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahكَانَkānaisتَوَّابًۭاtawwābanOft-ForgivingرَّحِيمًاraḥīmanMost-Merciful
4:16
إِنَّمَاinnamāOnlyٱلتَّوْبَةُl-tawbatuthe acceptance of repentanceعَلَىʿalābyٱللَّهِl-lahiAllahلِلَّذِينَlilladhīna(is) for those whoيَعْمَلُونَyaʿmalūnadoٱلسُّوٓءَl-sūathe evilبِجَهَـٰلَةٍۢbijahālatinin ignoranceثُمَّthummathenيَتُوبُونَyatūbūnathey repentمِنminfromقَرِيبٍۢqarībinsoon afterفَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَfa-ulāikaThen thoseيَتُوبُyatūbuwill have forgivenessٱللَّهُl-lahu(from) Allahعَلَيْهِمْ ۗʿalayhimupon themوَكَانَwakānaand isٱللَّهُl-lahuAllahعَلِيمًاʿalīmanAll-KnowingحَكِيمًۭاḥakīmanAll-Wise
4:17
وَلَيْسَتِwalaysatiAnd notٱلتَّوْبَةُl-tawbatu(is) the acceptance of repentanceلِلَّذِينَlilladhīnafor those whoيَعْمَلُونَyaʿmalūnadoٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِl-sayiātithe evil deedsحَتَّىٰٓḥattāuntilإِذَاidhāwhenحَضَرَḥaḍaraapproachesأَحَدَهُمُaḥadahumuone of themٱلْمَوْتُl-mawtu[the] deathقَالَqālahe saysإِنِّىinnīIndeed Iتُبْتُtub'turepentٱلْـَٔـٰنَl-ānanowوَلَاwalāand notٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoيَمُوتُونَyamūtūnadieوَهُمْwahumwhile theyكُفَّارٌ ۚkuffārun(are) disbelieversأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَulāikaThose أَعْتَدْنَاaʿtadnāWe have preparedلَهُمْlahumfor themعَذَابًاʿadhābana punishmentأَلِيمًۭاalīmanpainful
4:18
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَاyāayyuhāO youٱلَّذِينَalladhīnawhoءَامَنُوا۟āmanūbelieve[d]لَاlāNotيَحِلُّyaḥillu(is) lawfulلَكُمْlakumfor youأَنanthatتَرِثُوا۟tarithūyou inheritٱلنِّسَآءَl-nisāathe womenكَرْهًۭا ۖkarhan(by) forceوَلَاwalāAnd notتَعْضُلُوهُنَّtaʿḍulūhunnayou constraint themلِتَذْهَبُوا۟litadhhabūso that you may takeبِبَعْضِbibaʿḍia partمَآmā(of) whatءَاتَيْتُمُوهُنَّātaytumūhunnayou have given themإِلَّآillāexceptأَنanthatيَأْتِينَyatīnathey commitبِفَـٰحِشَةٍۢbifāḥishatinimmoralityمُّبَيِّنَةٍۢ ۚmubayyinatinopenوَعَاشِرُوهُنَّwaʿāshirūhunnaAnd live with themبِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ ۚbil-maʿrūfiin kindnessفَإِنfa-inBut ifكَرِهْتُمُوهُنَّkarih'tumūhunnayou dislike themفَعَسَىٰٓfaʿasāthen perhapsأَنanthatتَكْرَهُوا۟takrahūyou dislikeشَيْـًۭٔاshayana thingوَيَجْعَلَwayajʿalaand has placedٱللَّهُl-lahuAllahفِيهِfīhiin itخَيْرًۭاkhayrangoodكَثِيرًۭاkathīranmuch
4:19
