محمد بن عمر بن أحمد بن عمر بن محمد الأصبهاني المديني، أبو موسى: من حفاظ الحديث، المصنفين فيه. مولده ووفاته في أصبهان. زار بغداد وهمذان. من كتبه (الأخبار الطوال) و (اللطائف - خ) في الظاهرية بدمشق، في الحديث، و (خصائص المسند - ط) أي مسند ابن حنبل، و (تتمة معرفة الصحابة) و (الوظائف) و (عوالي التابعين) و (المغيث) أكمل به كتاب الغريبين للهروي، و (الزيادات) جعله ذيلا على أنساب المقدسي. قال السبكي: وفضائله كثيرة، وقد صنف فيها غير واحد. ونسبة (المديني) إلى مدينة أصبهان
