رَوَى عَن: إبراهيم بن أبي ميمونة (د ت ق) ، وأيوب بن يناق الهذلي، وعامر الشعبي، وعمرو بن الشريد الثقفي، وعمرو بن شعيب، وأبي عون محمد بن عبيد الله الثقفي (د) ، ومشرس الطائفي، وجده هنيد الثقفي مولى المغيرة بن شعبة، ويقال: عن جدته هنيدة مولاة المغيرة بن شعبة، وعن أبي بردة بن أبي موسى الأشعري.
