رَوَى عَن: حميد بن عبد الرحمن بن عوف، وعبد الله بن عمر بن الخطاب (بخ) ، وعكرمة مولى ابن عباس، وأبي سلمة بن عبد الرحمن بن عوف.
رَوَى عَنه: سعيد بن محمد الوراق، وعيسى بن يونس (بخ) ، ومروان بن معاوية الفزاري، وأبو معاوية الضرير.
قال أبو عبيد الآجري (٢) ، عن أبي داود: كوفي، ثقة.
وذكره ابن حبان في كتاب "الثقات (٣) .
روى له البخاري في "الأدب"عن ابن عمر أنه رآه يسلم على الصبيان في الكتاب.
