[تهذيب الكمال #3001]
رَوَى عَن: حذيفة بن اليمان، وعلي بن أبي طالب (ق) ، وعمر بن الخطاب (خ م د ت س) ، وعائشة أم المؤمنين (خ م ت س ق) .
رَوَى عَنه: ابنه إبراهيم بن عابس بن ربيعة، وإبراهيم بن يزيد النخعي (خ م د ت س) (٢) ، وابنه عبد الرحمن بن عابس بن ربيعة (خ م س ق) ، وأبو إسحاق السبيعي (ت) ، وابنته أسماء بنت عابس بن ربيعة (ق) .
ذكره محمد بن سعد في الطبقة الأولى من أهل الكوفة، وقال: هو من مذحج، كان ثقة، له أحاديث يسيرة.
