رَوَى عَن: حسين بن علي الجعفي، وأبي أسامة حماد بن أسامة. وأبيه عقبة بن خالد (س) .
رَوَى عَنه: النسائي، وأبو حاتم محمد بن إدريس الرازي، ومحمد بن إسحاق الثقفي، ومحمد بن عبد الله الحضرمي، ومحمد بن علي الحكيم الترمذي.
قال النسائي (٤) : صالح.
وذكره ابن حبان في "الثقات" (٥) .
قال محمد بن عبد الله الحضرمي وغيره: مات سنة سبع وأربعين ومئتين، زاد غيره: في رمضان.
