d Kanakeri was born in Syria. At a very young age, the Sheikh memorized the Qur’an with utmost zeal and enthusiasm.

His teachers include Sheikh Ahmad Kaftaro, the Mufti of the Syrian Arabic Republic and his father, Sheikh Ahmad Kanakeri who had a deep impact on the Sheikh’s talents and also worked on setting the unshakeable foundations towards higher goals and achievements.

Sheikh Kanakeri obtained his doctorate in the Science of Readings from Pakistan. Thereafter, the Sheikh sought his way in the sciences of Qur’anic Readings and Tarteel.

The Sheikh served as a professor at the Faculty of the Prince Sultan of Health Sciences in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. He also worked as an Imam in the mosque of Abu Bakr Siddiq until 1430 Hijrah in addition to being the imam at various mosques, within and beyond Syria. Furthermore, he leads the Taraweeh salaah in many mosques as well.
