العَارِفُ، الزَّاهِدُ، شَيْخُ الصُّوْفِيَّةِ، أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ أَحْمَدُ بنُ عَطَاءٍ الرُّوْذْبَارِيُّ، نَزِيْلُ صُورٍ.
حَدَّثَ عَنْ: البَغَوِيِّ، وَابنِ أَبِي دَاوُدَ، وَالمَحَامِلِيِّ.
وَعَنْهُ: السَّكَنُ بنُ جُمَيْعٍ، وَأَبُوْهُ، وَابنُ بَاكَوَيْه، وَعَلِيُّ بنُ عِيَاضٍ، الصُّوْرِيُّ، وَعِدَّةٌ، وَهُوَ ابْنُ أُختِ أَبِي عَلِيٍّ الرُّوْذْبَارِيِّ.
قَالَ القُشَيْرِيُّ: كَانَ شَيْخَ الشَّامِ فِي وَقتِهِ، مَاتَ بِصُورٍ سَنَةَ تِسْعٍ وَسِتِّيْنَ.
وَقَالَ السُّلَمِيُّ: كَانَ يَرْجِعُ إِلَى أَنواعٍ مِنَ العُلُومِ، كَالقِرَاءاتِ، وَالفِقْهِ، وَعلمِ الحقيقَةِ، وَإِلَى أَخْلاَقٍ فِي التَّجْرِيدِ يَختصُّ بِهَا يُربِي عَلَى أَقرَانِهِ.
قَالَ أَبُو القَاسِمِ بنُ عَسَاكِر: رَوَى أَحَادِيثَ غَلِطَ فِيْهَا غَلَطاً فَاحِشاً.
